My original sketch was awkward and disproportionate so I had a lot of tweaking to do, then the text on the balloon wouldn't warp in Illustrator so I had to put it into Photoshop afterwards. Step 1: Sketch it out with pencil and paper. Proportions don't matter so long as they're close. Step 2: Put sketch into Illustrator and start vectoring it one piece at a time with diligent organization. Step 3: Fix up proportions, colors, tiny errors that you find, etc. and export it as a PNG.
