Colors

I've made it my goal to figure out how to get colors to work properly.   I managed to use blue, teal, orange, and yellow in a patch of black that I colored in.   I blame it on poli (Advertising removed) who is in my drawing class. There was a contest that our teacher suggested we enter, I did my entry over the course of two, three days, now that I look at it it isn't all that great, but she did her's literally something like three hours before the entries were to be turned in, and well it's no

Times Square

Guess where I went today? No no, seriously, you'll NEVER guess. Couldn't possibly. Nope.     [EDIT: well whadya know, I forgot it's past 12, so I should say what I did YESTERDAY. Whatever. Same thing. Not really...]   Well anyway I saw another movie today and went to the Ripley's museum and ate at a fancy sit-down place and against my better instincts spent in one day more than what I spent all of this week. But it was really fun.   Times Square at night. Coolest. Place. In. New. York.

Finally Ran Out Of Staples

I don't think I've had to put new staples into my stapler for over a year. Perhaps more. You wouldn't think, but I probably only need to staple one or two assignments a week, and however many pages it is, that's still just one staple per assignment... so just one of those long thingamadoohickeys can last quite a long time.   ... the problem is, I've forgotten where the new staples are.

Odd Fansubs

Some things I just find kinda odd, some things I find really annoying.   For one thing, I've never seen the "this program was brought to you by the following sponsors" message subtitled before until now. Very odd, considering... you know, it's not really part of the show.   I've also never seen the "when watching [show], please brighten the room and watch at a distance from the TV" blurb subtitled before this, ever. I mean, when it's got an actual lil' animated scene to go with it, like in Hay

Makuta Rehersal Ends

Today I decided to officially stop writing my four-year-old comedy with the perpetually misspelled title.   Officially stop writing. I'd already stopped writing this July, but it was still left open that maybe I'd continue.   However, there is something I'd still like to share, and that was the premise I had planned for a sequel to MR, after I finished the current plot arc in MR (which now, I'll never finish).   It's not really a sequel, more just starting over with a new topic, new plot, sam

Workin' On Something...

RZ sprite is there for size comparison.   So basically the old Lyg spritesheet absolutely sucks.   For a group project that may or may not start up eventually. For now I'll just make the sprites and wait for news.   Haven't pixelled something this small in a while... small being a relative term, compared to the massive macabre monster sprite from a while ago. It also feels good to be drawing Lyg again. Haven't done that in a while either.

Oops

Either Maj is down or I just broke my Maj account. Old uploads are fine, but I can't upload anything else, and thumbnails have gone screwy.   ...   Oops.   As you may be able to guess, this entry was going to be about something else, but the relevant picture...

Another Translation!

Anyone who knows the basics and knows something of modern American culture ought to get this after the first two lines, perhaps, or you can just make conjectures based on the proper nouns. Actually, considering all the slang and odd colloquial English construction used, it was somewhat tricky and I had to be a bit liberal with this one, and ask my Latin teacher about some of the constructions (in a different context of course; imagine me asking my Latin teacher to translate this!).   This one w

So Interesting Things Have Happened

And I keep forgetting to mention them in favor of posting random ramblings. I wonder why.   First off a classmate of mine was elected to the school board! Pretty cool, eh? The day after the elections everyone was congratulating her so much I think she was utterly sick of it by the end of the day. XD English class kept getting interrupted. We received like five phone calls and then a photographer (with a really loud rapid-fire camera) from the Star-Ledger came and snapped photos for the last hal

Vote for LZ!   Because he entered. And he's my best buddy.   Oh yeah, and his MoC is pretty cool too.   And 'cuz he'll owe me a favor after this.

I Really Should Add An Entry About Something...

I should. Really. There just doesn't seem to be much to say.   I went to Liberty Science Center yesterday with LZ... it was fun, a lot of different stuff after the renovations, but since it was directly after all that construction half the stuff was out of order >.< AND since I went with his family I didn't get to do the "walk an I-beam" thing because that required a parental waiver form thingy. I mean, did the old skybike require a form? And there was the harness and all, I mean, what're

Today's The Last Day Of Summer Break

Well, at least I've got all my summer assignments done. But I've gotta pack all my backpack and all that @*&^!!...   Oh yeah and I'm still doin' stuff for the CS2 project... the admin fellow contacted Pixel and apparently he needs to clarify but he thinks the issue is that Pixel doesn't want us using the name "Cave Story 2," because, well, it's fanmade and whatnot... not an official sequel. So people have been tossing around random names and I suggested we come up with a good plot first aft

Obligatory Advertising Entry

Poll 5!   Friends, BZPers, fellow... er... tellurians... lend me your votes! Uh, please? I mean, if you like my entry that is. You can vote multiple. Unfortunately that tends to result in ties. Anyway.   Go check out my previous blog entry too. =D

Pronouncing Different Languages

So (I don't remember why) today in Physics I was trying to teach people how to properly pronounce things in standard Mandarin Chinese (Putong Hua). That is me and a couple other native speakers in the class and the people trying the pronunciation obviously weren't native speakers.   Young people really are pretty flexible and they were okay when they were following along with me but even after I explained all the Pinyin accent marks they still couldn't get the tonality right by themselves.   R

Wires!

And a drawing too.   Well, to start off, I love wire sculpture, started last year actually, near the end of eighth grade, we did a wire sculpture project, and I loved it.   I made a dragon, and this one is sturdier than my later ones being that it has a thick wire skeleton, like, a different wire than the colorful kind I used for the outside, strong wire.   I made a basic wireframe off of the skeleton then simply wound more wire around it. It originally could stand on its own, but it got a bi

First Bird Of Spring

The other day while heading to the bus stop I noticed a red-breasted robin hopping from branch to branch in a tree and twittering. Sure, it was more rusty orange than red. But it was the first bird I've seen in months.   Sure, it may still be cold enough to numb one's fingers. But the trees are blooming and the winds are changing, and, after all, the birds know best.   Hope everyone has a wonderful springtime.

Sick Day

"Hi!"   "Hi."   "Long time no see!"   "Yeah."   "How is you?"   "Eh, fine I guess. Still hanging around next to T. You hear anything about U?"   "I has no idea."   "Yeah, neither does J."     ... that actually has nothing to do with the rest of this entry. Just an anecdote I don't think I ever shared. (I'm the second speaker BTW)   So I wasn't on the intertubes at all for most of yesterday. That is because I was sick. That is also why I happen to be on the 'tubes right now, instead of

It's Done!

Oooh... finally...   About three to four straight hours of working (read: slapping it together). Felt like a lot longer. I think my fingers have blisters... >~<   Get the feeling B_D will prolly win, hers is pretty spiffy. Well, I gave it a shot. My AC attendance record is still (I think) perfect.   *checks* There's 8 (Eh, not bad, considering how long ago this was) 9 (Sucked. If you're really curious, dig it up yourself. I refuse to link to it.) 10 (I like it, but in hindsight, shoulda

Older And Younger

My mom made an dry observation that the older you get, the less school supplies you seem to need.   Nobody probably remembers this but I posted a rundown of my sister's kindergarten school supply list last year. What's my school supply list? A couple binders, folders, looseleaf, pencils, pens, a calculator, pencil bags, that's about it. Half of those I already have; I've been reusing the same pencil bags, calculators, pens, and some binders. Which left a couple binders, folders, a ream of loose

So... There's An Art Contest...

*sigh* well, after the disappointing results of the last contest, I said I wouldn't be entering any more...   But the theme is too interesting to pass up. Besides, I need something to do to unwind from all this college stuff.   I don't expect to win and I won't be putting forth tireless hours of effort. This is just for fun.     Sketch so far. Concept "car" based off the Ussal and, loosely, the Volkswagen Beetle.

Ap Chem

Wow, long time no blog. Then again, some haven't posted entries in months, so...   Anyway, first full week of school just went by! Seeing as last week we had a four-day-weekend... so anyway, I actually think I can handle it. AP Chem seemed really daunting at first, I did absolutely horrifically on my thermometer for the summer assignment (whadid I get, a 79? 72?) but while our teacher isn't easy (I hear the other AP Chem teacher just checks: if I heat your thermometer, does it go up, and if I c
