Since I learned my lesson the last time I got caught in the rain, I had an umbrella on me. So my top half didn't get wet, but my bottom half did, basically. It was raining that hard. School called off for massive Nor'easter storm (I've always wondered, why not just say "Northeaster"? Is the extra "th" that much trouble?).
Though it's already stopped raining. Lots of flooding and stuff yesterday, though. Not specifically by my house, our basement is still dry, but just in the area.

Can anyone tell what gender the above character is supposed to be (larger version of the pic in my av)? Completely unrelated to any persona I have on BZP, I just think I have a bit of trouble with gender distinctions when I'm drawing cats and I want to make it clear.

It occurs to me that I probably shouldn't have to ctrl-a ctrl-c every single post I make on a forum (this is the only forum I do it on), but...
... so anyway I find it impossibly weird to say this twice after having already typed it once, so I'll summarize it.
I got my PSAT scores back today, even though our school had them
So (I don't remember why) today in Physics I was trying to teach people how to properly pronounce things in standard Mandarin Chinese (Putong Hua). That is me and a couple other native speakers in the class and the people trying the pronunciation obviously weren't native speakers.
Young people really are pretty flexible and they were okay when they were following along with me but even after I explained all the Pinyin accent marks they still couldn't get the tonality right by themselves.

10:30 PM - Started watching Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei ep 02, subbed by gg. Realized that the .mkv file was not HD quality.
10:31 PM - Ripped the subtitle script using an .mkv extraction utility. Started watching the episode using an HD raw with the script file.
10:36 PM - Realized that the subtitles were off sync with the raw video I was using by a few fractions of a second.
10:37 PM - Ran the script through a Java app that I'd written a while ago to make minor corrections to subtitl
So while working with some Kanji, it occurred to me that despite the fact that I definitely know the Hiragana, I'm not nearly familiar enough with them. Meaning if you told me, "Write 'nu'" I'd probably need to hesitate a second or two, remember what it looks like, and then write it. I don't have this problem with more commonly used kana but I still want to be able to achieve almost instantaneous familiarity with these characters.

Anyway! A translation! To the best of my ability with some omissions to maintain a semblance of a meter (otherwise some of the lines would be twice as long as the others) and some modifications to keep some kind of a rhythm (or it'd just sound odd) and some word choice just because it's cooler that way.
