IT. IS. FREEZING. TODAY.
I mean, it definitely gets colder in winter and fall, but for SUMMER... and I haven't a clue how to turn on the heating! It's been raining and overcast for days, and I AM FREEZING. Yesterday was still warm enough to wear shorts, but dang it got cold today.
I'm SHIVERING. That's not RIGHT for summer. It's like FIFTY degrees out. Gah.

So seeing as recently a topic for each of the library forums has popped up in GD, esp. on the subject of how little attention stories are receiving these days, that got me thinking a bit... from my own experience, I'd like to say that perhaps part of the fault lies on neither the writing nor the readers... but the formatting.
Like, look here, see what I just did? I double-returned between paragraphs. Why do I do that? Well, because it keeps this blog entry--
It was spectacular. Completely spectacular. I watched the entire thing, missing only one or two minutes of the parade of nations when I went to order food.

Nobody probably remembers this but I posted a rundown of my sister's kindergarten school supply list last year. What's my school supply list? A couple binders, folders, looseleaf, pencils, pens, a calculator, pencil bags, that's about it. Half of those I already have; I've been reusing the same pencil bags, calculators, pens, and some binders. Which left a couple binders, folders, a ream of loose

So about an hour ago I was halfway through an idea I had for my essay and I decided to call it a night and while brushing my teeth an idea struck me so the computer went back on and here I am. There's the original 930 word version, which I heavily cut to a 705 word version, which I'll probably need to go over again to get it closer to the 500 word rule of thumb. Okay, I didn't get time yesterday to post this (for reasons which will be elaborated in this entry) and two more very interesting things happened today, so I'ma gonna need ta post two entries consecutively.
Anyway, yesterday... was very busy. Because in the evening I had this college seminar from 7 to 9, and I had Digital Darkroom afterschool (Computer Graphics club).

My sister is weird. She's four, starting the prime of her kidhood.
So how can there be so many things that kids ought rightly like that she doesn't?
She doesn't like the crunchy parts. Like on fried chicken, she'll only have the meat. Same thing for the Costco rotisserie chicken we buy now and then. The skin has the most flavor!
Even worse, get this: Butterscotch. It's, what, caramelized sugar and butter? It's amazing! How can she NOT like butterscotch?

Some things I just find kinda odd, some things I find really annoying.
For one thing, I've never seen the "this program was brought to you by the following sponsors" message subtitled before until now. Very odd, considering... you know, it's not really part of the show.
I've also never seen the "when watching [show], please brighten the room and watch at a distance from the TV" blurb subtitled before this, ever. I mean, when it's got an actual lil' animated scene to go with it, like in Hay

Today we had a day off, because of staff development or something. I should be doing work but I really don't feel like it... second semester senior and all. Anyway, that means a four day weekend. Wewt.

Wow. What a city.
I spent essentially from after dinner (7:15) to now (about 9, who knows when I'll finish typing this) walking the streets of New York.
Not any kind of complicated route (I'd get lost) but you really can just feel the flavor of the city... I spent some time sketching people who were playing basketball and soccer, and on the ones with a bit more detail to them... well, you just feel the attitude of New York. It's all so diverse. You see people of so many kinds... seniors in
