Sense Of Accomplishment

I finished writing 52-Pickup the day before yesterday. 20 chapters and an epilogue. 176 pages in Microsoft Word (all default formatting) and 54,839 words.   I feel such a massive sense of accomplishment.   Oh yeah in related news, until yesterday I was off in the Washington D.C. area; visited a college, visited Loray Caverns, visited the National Museum of Natural History, looked at the cherry blossoms, etc. Rained on college visit and museum days, which is better than raining on the cherry bl

... Still Here?

Oh. Well. Okay then. I'm not complaining .   SATS ARE TOMORROW. UGH...   Though I guess all I can do is relax, sleep well, have a hearty breakfast... I'm not going to be boosting my score any on the final night, so I may as well just go in well rested and wide awake and full of food and energized.   Also, after a year or so with my dragon wallpaper, I've decided to switch, since it was old and doesn't reflect my current skill level. Behold!     New wallpaper! Of course this is less than h

Olympic Opening Ceremonies

It was spectacular. Completely spectacular. I watched the entire thing, missing only one or two minutes of the parade of nations when I went to order food.   Ah it's too bad darned NBC acquired the broadcasting rights for the entire country since now we're watching it twelve hours late but hey, watching it at the same moment as the rest of the nation, well, that's good enough.   The opening show was unbelievable. Unbelievable.   I just want to say that I wish the stupid announcers had left po

A Question Of Modern Etiquette

Somebody has headphones on and is listening to their MP3 player. The volume is so loud that the people around them can hear the music. Somebody else yells at them to turn the volume down.   Who is being rude and selfish, the person who is blasting their music or the person who yells at them to turn it down?   I tried to write that unbiased but if you know me or have read an entry I made some time ago, you'll know which side I'm on. I want to see whether I'm the only one who is bothered by this

Ac 14!

Maybe yesterday's sketch didn't give the full scope of the idea I had... only basic layout, after all.     As you can tell, I decided on the sword coming in around neck height (hence the massive highlights roundabouts). Color is one of my weaknesses, I mean in general. I do fine on an individual piece, but I need a good sense of shadow and form for the entire figure, you know? I think I'll have to lay down many bases and constantly check myself. That was the problem with my AC13 entry, each s

Relocation Confusion

Text: Glasses, glasses, where are my glasses?   So this week the juniors have HSPA standardized testing (HAHAHAHA juniors sucks for you... okay obviously I had to take them last year and they're darned easy anyway, but...).   Anyway the entire annex except for a few classrooms was devoted to the HSPA rooms, right? So all the classes in the annex for the first half of the day had to be relocated.   Now, this shouldn't have affected me. First block today I have Global Studies which is in the ol

LYG IS EVIL!   Also, AP Chem is HAAAAAARD.   And I can't beat 8 minutes 14 seconds on Cave Story final level.   ... and Lyg is evil.   And there's a cool rock on my desk.   Also, foods have weird names.   I mean, chicken fingers, buffalo wings, and... well there was another one that I forgot. But seriously. Chickens have no fingers. Buffalo have no wings.   Also...   ...   Rock.   And LYG IS EVIL!   VOTE FOR EVIL IN THAT CHAOS IN THE DEEP POLL!   Click!

Books!

BOOOOOOOOKS.   Calvin and Hobbes collection yay! =3   Yeah, warehouse book sale today. Wewtness.   I got a book on Photoshop/web design and a really fascinating one with pages that demonstrate the design process for various logos, which is awesome. And also some graphic novel of Jason and the Argonauts just because it was cheap and when I saw it I was like "what they made a COMIC BOOK out of this?"   And a great book full of animal photos. PHOTOREFERENCE! The one with the caimans facing off

Power Of Rock (wip 2)

Well, no way it's getting done before the new year. Ah well.   Someone suggest color schemes for the instruments.   And a name for the band.

Summer Assignments

To the teacher who, some time in the past, came up with the notion of "summer assignments"...   I hate you. *shakes fist*   *sigh*   In other news, I put up another chapter of Makuta Rehearsals and I'm ACTUALLY WRITING another chapter of Innovation, that long-ago epic I stopped at 3 chapters four months ago.   And on Saturday I'm updating the Lyg comic. =D

Stupid Commercials

Anyone ever see that cell phone commercial? Sprint, I think. You know, the whole "Haha our competitors don't have as wide a range of coverage as us, haha" gig.   Where there's this guy at a construction site thing, right? And then his lolbluescreenclone comes on and he's like, "Hi, this is Generic Name Joe's phone here! Since he's not on Sprint, he didn't get the call to say that the safety zone has been moved from [arbitrary length] to [arbitrary, much longer length]. Blah blah blah, insert su

Moer Psychokitty! ^_^

Ya think I forgot about her?   I had other things to worry about drawing and doodling-wise, but I've gone back to my old scans and started to CG them...   I'll have to dig up all my witty sadistic quotes that go along with these pics.   I'm thinking of making T-Shirts. =D   ... they ARE big enough.

I Yet Live!

Long time no blog. Which means, wow, a WHOLE WEEK ALMOST! =O   We're getting our basement done. Wheee I get to see what the inside of walls look like! ^o^   No drywall yet though. Gotta get the walls inspected and such, which I find kinda odd... I mean, it's not like they won't support the house, they're not tearing down the original support posts, you know? I guess if they do a really horrible job you could stick your arm through the wall but I mean, it's not going to cause a massive collapse

Eta Beta Pi

Guess what?   We're moving way to slow for the Science League in Chemistry class.   Therefore I had to teach myself a heckuva lot of the stuff before taking the NJ Science League qualifying test today.   I made 4 of the 5 tests last year and I hope to make all 5 this year. Attend and take, of course. And at least make alternate, though getting on the team is great.   Unfortunately, I have no danged idea how to work hybridization (actually, now I grasp it more) and pi bonds and sigma bonds an

A Yay And An Argh

Two arghs actually. And a few lols.   The quick stuff out of the way first.   I FINALLY BEAT MY FASTEST TIME ON CAVE STORY SACRED GROUNDS. YAY! Still nowhere near that crazy two-minute record but I'm down to 6:50. I was so close to getting it in under 6, too, but I timed the final jump badly, ended up falling off, and died on Ballos fourth form. ARGH.   Today in math class we learned the disk method of integration. My teacher had trouble pronouncing "disk." I won't go further for fear of enra

Yay, Bzp Are Back. ^^

Wow that was a long time   Well I updated the Lyg comic, and I am also curious about the revival rules concerning the week-and-a-half hiatus. If the topics could not have been posted in for 11 days, it's not exactly fair to close them then, is it? But on the other hand, it's a lot of trouble for mods to figure out the date discrepancies...   Now that the forum's back, I feel more obligated to finish that chapter of Makuta Rehersals I've been working on. I think I'll definitely start a new to

This Is Not Helping With Those Essays

>.< Bad time of life I chose to start watching anime.   Oh yeah.     I'm going to need to retouch the first part that I colored... after I finish shading the last leg.

On Internet Readability

You don't want this to happen.   So seeing as recently a topic for each of the library forums has popped up in GD, esp. on the subject of how little attention stories are receiving these days, that got me thinking a bit... from my own experience, I'd like to say that perhaps part of the fault lies on neither the writing nor the readers... but the formatting.   Like, look here, see what I just did? I double-returned between paragraphs. Why do I do that? Well, because it keeps this blog entry--

This Is Indeed An Honors Program

I love Organic Chem at the Columbia SHP.   We goof off ten times as much as we do in Chem class at school, yet we haven't broken anything yet. On the other hand, at least once every two labs in AP Chem you hear the tinkle of shattering labware.   Speaking of which I gave my sister a carbon dioxide lab glove balloon today.

Psat Finally!

Well, the server board messaged my previous attempt at this entry, and I unwisely copied something else while this entry was still on my clipboard, thus overwriting it. It occurs to me that I probably shouldn't have to ctrl-a ctrl-c every single post I make on a forum (this is the only forum I do it on), but...   ... so anyway I find it impossibly weird to say this twice after having already typed it once, so I'll summarize it.   I got my PSAT scores back today, even though our school had them

Spring Is In The Air!

I nearly fell flat on my face and/or bottom approximately ten times today.   There was apparently a huge thaw yesterday which resulted in a layer of water coating many surfaces, which resulted, at night, when the temperature is below freezing, in ice.   Ice that is almost invisible.   And on the snow that is still left, there is also a coating on top of, guess what? Ice.   And what looks like a solid puddle of ice on the grass that you can joyously slide across is not, in fact, a solid puddl
