My last shift at the coffee shop ended just an hour ago. The owners sold it, and the new owners decided they didn't need as many staff, so I was terminated. FEYRU It was really bittersweet saying goodbye. The place feels like home after working there for almost a year. I knew the menu backwards and forwards, could make every drink with one hand tied behind my back, and got to know dozens of regulars and their beverages of choice. I met a lot of great people and learned some valuable skills

Ooh ooh ooh aah
Gotta make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right
As I turned up the collar on
A favorite winter coat
This wind is blowin' my mind
I see the kids in the street
With not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind
Pretending not to see their needs
A summer's disregard
A broken bottle top
And a one man's soul
They follow each other
On the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowh
Do you ever have one of those days where something really just gets up in your face and grinds your gears? Uhh, bad wording: I bet you're all picturing that Peter Griffin meme that pops up every few weeks on Facebook like a pimple on my news feed. I'll try again: you ever have one of those days where something rubs you the wrong way and you just about burst like a broken fire hydrant? Yeah, me too. (I usually do better with the metaphors, jsyk) Those who know me are aware that I don't get
Today was my last day of high school. It's hard to describe my state of mind right now. I can't quite seem to get my head around the fact that I won't be going back to school in September. I won't be hanging out with all my friends; I won't be going to classes and seeing my favourite teachers. It's all over. Don't get me wrong- I'm so excited to have graduated. It's incredibly exciting. But at the same time, I'm swamped with memories of high school, and I'm feeling nostalgic. I'm so happy it
...someone addresses you and you answer only it turns out they were actually addressing someone else not you and so now you just stand there awkwardly. What other awkward moments have you experienced? LET'S BUILD AN AWKWARD LIST TOGETHER SO WE CAN FEEL SOME CAMARADERIE IN LIFE'S AWKWARDNESS. and also so i feel less awkward ._.
So. Good.
Yes, it took me a while to see it, but it was definitely worth the wait. An exciting plot, relatable and realistic characters, and some of the animated scenes I've ever seen. The songs were catchy and fun, and added to the experience rather than taking away. I've been humming the incantation song ever since.
Anyway, though this is late, what are your thoughts on Tangled? How do you think it compares to the movies of Disney's golden age, such as The Little Mermaid or The Lion Kin
I'm RPing with Friar Tuck!

Again, I'm trying to find a project I can throw myself into. Should I... Write an epic (on what?) Co-write an epic (with whom?) Write a series of short stories (on what?) Write a comedy (why?) Write a blog serial (what is this i don't even) Start drawing again (holy bieber seriously?) Any suggestions/questions/comments/snide remarks?
So it's actually been just over 45 days since my last name change. Wow. That went really fast. I felt like I had another month to go. Don't know why, but I probably forgot at some point that I only have 45 days between name changes and not 90. Oops. Anyway, that means I'm accepting name suggestions again! However, for the first time, I am posting criteria for the name! ...well, actually criterion, because there's only one: the name you submit must have 'Eyru' in it. Aside from that, it's
The NHL lockout has come, at long last, to an end (yes this is old news but I forgot to make a blog post about it) I, however, will not be watching any hockey until October 2013, because I'm stubborn and I don't want to support a league that treats its fans so poorly. I am Canadian, in case you didn't know, and hockey is in my blood. In my very soul. Needless to say, this is heartrending. *tears* #staystrong #gocanucksgo (I swear though if the Canucks win the Cup this year I will d
The time has come to put on a suit, walk across a stage, and give a speech. I'm graduating from high school today, and it's both awesome and surreal. I'm rather nervous for the speech part (I'm one of the two valedictorians), but I know it's going to rock! Anyway, wish me luck, and maybe I'll get around to posting some snazzy pics of me in the next few days! Oh, and look, I found an emoticon appropriate to my emotions: I'll be a graduate the next time we chat! Later gators!
I'm also eligible to vote and own property, but who cares, right? So, yeah, my birthday was on the 24th. Didn't do anything for it, as I was actually busy being a counselor at a kids' camp that I volunteer at every year. I did get some cake, though, which is all anyone really needs on their birthday. I'm also an AFOL now, which is really neat. It's definitely an odd feeling to be an adult; it's always been that thing you think about but it's so far off in the future you can't imagine it hap
...and loved it. Film adaptations that match the book are exceedingly rare, and those that surpass the book are rarer still. This film doesn't quite reach that mark, but it was a surprisingly accurate and enjoyable adaptation of an excellent book. One factor in its success, I believe, was that nothing major was left out of the film. Most adaptations end up cutting out huge swaths of the book because there's simply too much detail, but The Hunger Games isn't one of those. It was incredibly fa
