Not a proposal of marriage, don't worry. No, I've never really noticed how great the smilie is, so I propose that this week shall be Blinking Smilie Appreciation Week! Show your appreciation with this awesome banner:

Seranikai
Bionicle ending. Really? What a surprise.
But nice surprise: Seran hasn't actually stopped MOCing. No. That would be silly.
I am, however, extraordinarily busy until Christmas, but after that we have two weeks of holiday (two weeks after the Christmas holiday, for some reason) so I wouldn't be surprised if I posted a MOC around then.
No promises, but you know. Mata Nui does rather lend himself to being built properly.
Not that I'm that good or anything, but still. You know.

Ode To The Lost Gunmetal
O shining metal
Of most beautiful form
Thou art vaguely gray
Yet not actually
Thy shade could be likened
To pearlescent green
Or so I might reckon
Maybe, maybe not
Thou dost exist in many forms
In Hewkii
Toa of Yellorange and Thy Namesake
In Makuta
That most hideous Master
I see thee hiding in the Kikanalo
Spine and saddle thing
Canst thou be found
In Hyraxon's digits too?
Now I see thee
In the new Takanuva, at least I think I do
Noble Toa! Bringe
Obviously, not me. As regular visitors to the Rift will be aware (possibly), Seranikai is the name of a character in the trilogy of novels I'm writing. Strangely, though he's my favourite character, I had never drawn a picture of him...and I've drawn almost all of the characters. That's how I design them. Yet good old Seran appeared in the novel, fully formed, with not even a sketch.
But things change, and now, finally, I present an illustration of the real Seranikai.
Isn't perspective fun
I won't be on BZP at all over the next few days. I'm going away to a huge model exhibition, to display my Lego Railway. We don't tend to do a lot of things like this in the UK, so this is a pretty big event. I'll be sure to take billions of photos, but until I return, I can only offer the WIP galleries.
This is likely to be the last project I ever do, as I'll be going to university next year. So, yeah. Enjoy the next few days.

...no, not the titan version. I'm not stupid, what a waste of money.

THE CANISTER BIT
So, here we go. The canister is, as usual, made from plastic. I didn't have any other canisters to compare it with, so I chose random things from my desk. It's larger than my iPod, yet considerably smaller than my TV. About the same size as a Wii, by the looks of it. I hope that helps. Anyway, it's sort of tapered to one side, with stripey bits o
As you might be able to guess from the title, I've finally got my Nintendo Wii. And it's amazing. The controller is so clever, and so natural. And the design of everything is so slick... I also got Wii Play, Twilight Princess, and an extra Wiimote. So let the party begin!

Now I've finished school, I'm not sure what I'm doing anymore. I'm going to university, but I don't think I'll enjoy it. Then what? I really don't know. I want to leave home, as I'm growing apart from my parents, but I have nowhere to go.
Seran went to the cinema today with Emma and Ally. We saw Coraline, it was great. French and Saunders were fantastically mad voice actresses. I felt the film started to fizzle out towards the end, but I was surprisingly satisfied with the way it ended.
About halfway through, I tried the timeless yawn-and-put-your-arm-around-your-friend-move on Ally. She didn't mind. So there you go. I just need to find a guy to try it on now.
Also, if you think I've stopped MOCing, you're wrong.
Oh yes.
Firstly, I've added a nice little profile just on the left there. Now...
Bad Seran. Naughty Seran.
From my first book:
I checked my character database, and he's only meant to have one wing, the other being mechanical. Now I've got to go through the entire first book and change every mention of his wings.
The vaguely ironic thing - I remember the first draft mentioned that he only had one wing, but for some reason I changed it to two. Every description after that says two.

Apart from Bionicle, my main interest in Lego is trains. Before everyone shouts 'boring', I must say I'm not interested in normal trains. Let me explain...
The stuff I'm interested in are the railways (or railroads, if you're American) created by English cartoonist, Rowland Emett. He's drawn hundreds of funny sketches, involving ridiculous trains that would never work in real life. Everything he drew had a comical, ancient look, as though it would fall apart at any second. I'll upload a coupl
Just to let you all know, I am still MOCing. I have absolutely no idea why, but a great idea sprang to mind, and I spent a few hours making something totally unlike my normal style. In a good way, I think. So yay, MOCist Seran is back.
And psychologist Seran is back too, as I'm helping a friend through very, very difficult times in a way that only I can. No details are necessary or interesting.
However, sad Seran and happy Seran are back simultaneously. Happy Seran because I made a nice he
Where should I start? At the beginning seems so cliched (can you do special characters here?) so I'll probably start in the middle, and work my way back. Or forwards, I'm not really sure.
Oh, for the sake of clarity, I'll start at the start. I was born in England (and indeed I still am in England) and nothing really exciting happened, at least, not that I can remember. When I was four, I accidentally cut one of my fingers off, and had to go to hospital to get it sewn back on. Thankfully it wa
The winner of the Lemon Club Challenge 2 is...
Arpy!
His magical entry looked at the other side of Lemons, the one that few people notice - just how bad it is to actually be a Lemon. We can all learn a valuble lesson from that story. Arpy thusly wins this rather extraordinarily shiny exclusive bannner:
So, join us in congratulating Arpy in his well earned victory! Yay! And of course, a big thank you to the other entrants...without you, there would be no point whatsoever in having th
'Twas my sister's halloween party last night, so I had to put up with several hours of 'playing' with my nephews and nieces. Or rather, giving them piggybacks, and trying to hide from them. We got home so late, I'm soooo sleepy, hence the name of this entry.
But I've still got about 500 million things to do - I go back to school/college tomorrow, and I haven't done my homework yet. Let that be a lesson to you, okies?
On a side note, I ordered 240 new Lego parts from Bricklink, which should
Do you ever get that feeling that there's something really important that you have to do, but you don't know what it is?

I may have fooled a couple of you into thinking that my favourite colour is blue. Or navy, to be precise. But it isn't. It's actually silver. So I'll be posting in that from now on.
I'm also contemplating a name change, so so don't hesitate to tell me if you have any good ideas.
I've done it.

I stumbled across something that, to me, was vaguely interesting. Do you remember the teaser for Bionicle 3? The first one? Well, loads of people were asking about the music, saying that it was awesome. It was, in fact, called 'Discovery', by Brand X music. This link might work. It's actually a really cool piece of music, so...yeah.
Hooray?

My latest novel ends with a poem, and I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out, so I thought that I'd share it with you. Be warned though, it's pretty depressing. It's called 'So Alone', and is about a young lady whose husband has just died.
I stand alone on the edge of the ocean
Watching the moonlight dance
over the water
The moon is a pale jewel
Guiding me through the night
The stars shine amongst
Their sea of clouds
I reach out to them
And my fingers touch

After fiddling around with various hex codes, I've decided that silver doesn't work too well on BZP, because of the pale blue background. So now I'm using bold #243042, apparently.
It fits pretty well with the Rift, I think.
