A Novel Concept: The Lord of Misrule

So last November I participated in NaNoWriMo, and actually suceeded in writing a 50,000 word Novel. I'd really like to publish it, but there's a lot of work that's between now and then, if ever.     What was my book, you ask? Well:   The Lord of Misrule   There used to be magic in the world. REAL magic. But as time went on, the magic faded. Now no one believes that it ever existed.   Except for the Actors.   Hidden away in the world is a special school dedicated to teaching actors

Radio Star

So I agreed to Dj a morning show for our college radio station, 91.7 KEOL. Partially because I like doing it, partially because I enjoy early mornings when I actually get up, and partially because they desperately needed someone to fill a morning slot.   still haven't gotten the passcode I need to actually get into the building...Hm...   but hey! if you want to tune in, we've got an online stream at eou.edu/KEOL. my slot is 6-8 A.M Pacific Time on Thursdays. And bonus points (and cookies!) if yo

7 Secrets to Being an Adult, Part 2

7 Secrets to being an adult Part 2   1. Dish soap and Dishwasher Detergent are not the same thing. Don’t put Dish Soap in the Dishwasher unless you want suds all over the floor.   2. When moving, know how to pack a box. Don’t stick all your books in one box or you will never be able to lift it. Instead, put a few heavy things in the bottom of the box, then fill the rest with lighter items or clothes. Sure, possessions get spread around a little more, but your sister will actually be able to carr

Playin' it Old School

So I dug up The Old MNOG and MNOG II flash games last night, partially because I was curious if they still worked on my mac. (They do) I proceeded to waste an hour playing MNOG when I was supposed to be doing my Directing Homework.   I still think LEGO should make a game like these for the new generation. They were so much fun, and they don't have to be considered Canon!     And I will not mention the 15 minutes I wasted wandering around the Po-Wahi desert trying to remember my next step...

NaNoWriMo Tips!

It's-a me again!   So I was asked about the little word counter I have in my blog, and how to get ahold of it. So I'm going to tell you how to get your own, and give some other tips for keeping on track during the NaNo extravaganza!     1. The Word Counter   Having a word counter in a place outside of the NaNo website can be a great reminder of what you've done so far and what you still need to do. If you want one like the one I have, start on the NaNo homepage. click Inspiration--> Word coun

National Novel Writing Month: 2014 Pre-Show

Greetings, Peoples!   NaNoWriMo is upon us once again! For those of you who have never heard that term, it stands for National Novel Writing Month. Sounds pretty cool, right? For all of those who love to write, a challenge is issued; write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I've tried it a few times in the past, but have never 'won' a year. This year, though, I plan to succeed.   So how does this all work, you ask?   Well, if you want to participate, check out the official NaNoWriMo site. You can

So You Want to go to College? Part 1

Greetings, Amazing Peoples!   After coming back to the forums, I started posting in a topic entitled College Applications. Made by a high school senior looking for application advice, I soon regaled him with bit after bit of advice about applying, looking for colleges, etc... I realized fairly quickly that there was far more to this process than I would ever be able to fit into a single post. So I’m making a blog series about applying for college, preparing, and the first term. I hope it’s helpf

Do I talk too much?

Recently (in various venues/topics) I've posted long, detailed analyses of various topics of interest. (A rant about movies on a social network site, my epic essay about bionicle here, ect...) Not to mention that most of my comedy chapters are really long. And for some reason, no one ever gives any feedback.   Is it because there rants/chapters are too long, complicated, and/or boring for people to read?   I dunno.           ...But I just got a new idea for a comedies contest if another ever h

Um...

Wow, the blog's still here.   So... It's been over a year since I was last in my blog. So much has changed since then. I'm now officially in college, (with a good GPA!) and whlie my webcomic has fallen by the wayside (mostly because there's no space to work on a webcomic in my dorm room) I do plan on picking it up again in the future. I've been looking at my life in new ways. BZPower is a part of my life that seems to be falling away, like a lot of my old work. I still love it, but I don't hav

Sharing My Artwork

I'm considering an account on a certain site that I can share artwork on, now that I've actually been drawing things. In an actual SKETCHBOOK.   on the plus side, people would be able to see my artwork and give me decent feedback   on the minus side, It'd be another password for me to remember, and I'm not sure if anyone would actually want to see my artwork.   So I'm kinda stuck.   Help?

So... Yeah...

I haven't been on BZP in a month. Today.   I wonder why?   Is it my dedication to fundraising, my Webcomic, schoolwork, and life in general?   Is it my sudden boredom and disgust with the quality of comedies in the library (considering I haven't even read most of them...)   Is it because no one would read my comedies?   Is it because I became bored with Bionicle in general?   Is it because my sudden adulthood has me considering such things childish?   Is it becasue I haven't had a reason recen

You Know You're Obsessed With College...

I had a bad dream last night that my SAT scores weren't good enough to get into college, and I had to re-take the test.   I should probably quit obsessing over college so much...   I don't even get my scores for another four days...

A Brief Update...

Hey guys. With the new forums and everything, I realized that I have a few projects that got left hanging. I'm going to do my best to update you on what I've been doing, and what I'm going to do with everything here.   First, the forums:   -My Comedies. I'll gradually re-post these, but I have other commitments that are taking most of my time right now (More on that later) Once they're all updated, I'll start writing again. I just get so many Ideas at once...   -The Comedy Critics Club: Since th

Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker

March 14: Spent $20 on Wind Waker   Found out that it would not work, and could not find a place to return it. Thankfully, I got it cleaned and it worked. Sadly, I lacked a GameCube controller.   April 11/12th: Purchased GameCube controller for $8.   April 16th: Gamecube controller arrive. Eagerly put the disk in, plugged in the game... and I need a GCN memory card in order to save it.   This is turning out to be one expensive venture.... Nothing I can do now but think of a new plan (and

Ccc Critics

Hey guys.   Thank you all for working so hard on the CCC awards this year. It turned out great. However, (I think you will probably agree) There are a couple of things that we can improve on or do better. This will also be a chance for us to get our normal CCC duties sorted out. So this will basically be a round-table discussion about the awards, how you think we did, and how we can improve. I’ll put up a couple of points to start us off.   Communication/Public Relations: This was a HUGE issue

Comedies Forum...

There are those who can stomach the chaos...   There are those who feel queasy at the sight of horrid jokes...   There are some who just stick it out...     And there are those of us that want to cry because no one will read the rules!     How many comedies nowadays are made by writers who haven't even read the basic rules? I've seen a bunch recently that have been closed because no one will read the rules... It's not that hard.   In semi-related news, the nominations for the CCC awards

Turn It On Again...

Because I'm tired of the silence...don't stop the music...It goes on, and on, and on, and on... 'Cause no one can rock the way you rock.   (Bonus points to anyone who can guess which songs these are from... except for the first one in the blog post.)   So yeah. Tired, bored. Sick of schoolwork.   Completely forgot what I was going to post about...     OH YEAH! I'm writing the final chapter for the CCC Awards Ceremony, so it should be up soon! Can't wait to get this done!

Nooooooooo!

Don't you hate things that JUST WON'T DIE!?!?!   Like stories. Or Ideas. Or stories that generated a huge amount of spam and was closed for excessive flaming. And the author banned. AND IT STILL WILL NOT END!   I can see an inferno on the horizon...       By the way, you should all check out Iden 21. It's a really good new comedy that is being started up, that happened to be started at the same time as the un-dead one, so we should all Give Iden 21 a round of applause and good criticism.

Disneyland!

I am finally back from my vacation/mission trip to Los Angeles, CA. A week-long trip experiencing the... interesting and varied cultures of this megaopolis. I really don't want to go over all of it now, so I'll put up the highlights:   Trip: -Worked at Emanuel Babtist Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter in Downtown LA. Cleaned clothes room, office, and chapel. -Cooked/served breakfast at North Valley Caring Services. Also organized clothes room. (everyone on the trip agrees that this is wher

Back Online...

I've had this PM that's been sitting in my inbox all week and I COULDN'T OPEN IT! Finally got to open it, though. So the CCC awards are back on track.   In other news: I finally got Smash Bros. Sadly, due to my Wii being old hand having played many disks, the lens is apparently dirty and needs to be cleaned. (It couldn't read the SSBB disk.) So it's currently sent off for professional cleaning from Nintendo. I'll play it... Eventually...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I've been trying to rent it from the video store for at least two months now. Either I'm out of town, or someone else rented it first. last friday, I had it reserved so that I could be sure I would get it. It was never returned in time, and I gave up. And I'm gone this weekend.   I'm debating at this point whether I want to try to use Gamefly, or if I want to fork over the $50 and just buy it this weekend if I have time. I've played it before, and I've played the melee version in Science class

Kindle?

I'm seriously considering getting one. I read enough that I almost need a second bookshelf in my bedroom, and I can't keep track of what I read. If I get a kindle, I won't be dragging about five books with me on every car trip. (For those of you confused, my average car trip lasts about 5 hours. And they're frequent.)   Problem is: Do I want 3G, Wifi, or even a different brand?   So many choices... I need help!

Yes, It's My Birthday....

And I'm Exausted.   I just spent the last couple of days at district Honor Choir. It was kind of boring, but going to see EOU's Phantom of the Opera was cool. I even got to meet my online makeup class teacher, who was directing the play. I was looking at the stage, wondering where he was. About five minutes before the play started, I realized he was sitting right behind me.   oh, and of course the entire honor choir had to sing happy birthday to me. In as many different keys as possible. Bes
