Ah yes, the Blog. I remember I had a blog here once... I nuked all the entries after the week was up.
So, welcome to the Swert Blog, possibly the only blog you will want to forget
I'm sure nobody here has heard of me, so I won't bother with introductions.
I'll be here all week to post what I really think about anything. Maybe it'll be good? Maybe not? Who knows? (Who cares? )
Hope everybody enjoys my works, I don't know what to say yet, post comments if you'd like, or make suggestio
So, money got tight this year for practically everybody I know, except my brother who's been promoted to manager of his department, and my grandparents who own stock in the good stuff like PepsiCo, which isn't going anywhere any time soon. Having said that, my gifts this year were modest, small, and will probably expand in time if someone goes out and does something about it. My brother bought me XCOM: Enemy Unknown and gave me a MS Touch Mouse he bought at the company store when it was on sal
Life is too crazy, everyone. So I now have about one month to immediately blitzkrieg build 8 new tall buildings, some Patent models, fix up our Monticello we have, plus some other minor things, then pack them all up and ship them freight to Florida and Michigan. I am very proud of one of my models, which I will be posting soonish. It's a recreation of the Lego model #10124 Wright Flyer Creator Expert, built in close to 1/2 its scale. My boss was so happy with it, he immediately photographed
I-I'm sorry I just had to ... Also I just woke up, hence why I'm so far behind. But I am at least original! (Also apparantly the most geeky, if nobody else thought of this one.)
Hey everyone, So, I finally looked around and realized, given how busy I've been, I haven't done anything on BS01 lately in terms of changing out the main page's feature content. Granted, a certain podcast interview miiiiight have been an influence on that front. Anywho. So, because we've had Core War, The Coming of Botar and Gali's quote featured for what feels like months now, I'm open to suggestions. Please feel free to post your suggestions in a reply, and I'll get right on it... Friday.
One guess. So given Microsoft just lowered the price of the Xbox One back on Saturday, I decided to pick up an Assassin's Creed Unity Kinect-less bundle, $350. It didn't occur to me when I got it they also planned to give me AC4 as a bonus, which given I already had it on the 360 was a nice plus. I then proceeded to buy Fibbage for $6 and Minecraft XBO edition for $5. ... So basically, I spent almost $400 (with tax) on a brand new console, 4 games, and basically a multipurpose controller (
Alright, so if you were part of the randomness that was MakutaFest 2014, you would recall I mentioned something about a grand prize. That grand prize was, of course, a Vahi that was practically life-sized, based on the movie-edition, and made of Lego. It took me ~1 hour to build from scratch in the studio I work at, and took me all of 30 minutes in LDD to build and pose. I then took it into another program to make instructions of it, so others can build it at home. The only difference between
I have some special news coming to BS01 today. I'm posting here to alert you all to it. And before hopes are brought up, it's not major. But hey, it's news on BS01 8D
Considering making this a Sounders Blog until I run out of premiership and can't update. And why not? Nobody reads it anyway Also, 2-1 against a team from Mexico in the CONCACAF Champions League, Quarterfinal first leg. Second leg to be in Mexico. And no, I don't expect any more Sounders fans here. Sigh.
Haven't even hit morning of the 15th, and already got a few gifts: 2 new Polos + Floyd T-Shirt $70 total from relatives $75 Amazon Gift Card from brother Three new DC-related movies/DVD collections: Batman Mask of the Phantasm, Green Lantern Emerald Knights, and Green Lantern The Animated Series Season 1.0 (13 episodes already debuted, with the other half coming out next week or so on CN) (I bought myself this one) Black Mesa Source Not expecting too much else, but you never know. I'
Maybe next year, when I say "I'm tired from working six weeks on a project under a strict deadline" someone will listen when they remember back to when I used both Toa V and Derpy Hooves to basically do absolutely nothing all day with. That is all. Thank you and have a nice April 2nd.
I've been saying it for years, the only way I would get sick is if it had to drag me into a bed and find a way to keep me there. Well played, stomach bug. Making me so dizzy I can't even stand is indeed one way to keep me here. But by midnight tonight I will defeat you. I must.
So, I fell down on the sidewalk (rainy day, slipped and fell), scraped up my right knee, possibly hit my head and gained a concussion (major headache all day), and still got up and put in a six-hour work day.
With a bleeding knee, and a concussion.
And then I went in today as well.
That's dedication right there, folks. The Swert WILL NOT DIE.
... for a wedding. HOWEVER I had the choice to go to BrickFair VA this year, I chose to side with caution as far as finances go. I am, however, still going for BrickCon. THAT I set aside money for since January
So a few friends of mine online decided to debate, briefly, what would be the #1 song you would pick from The Beatles to introduce the band to someone who (for some weird reason) never heard of them. To clarify, I don't mean their best or greatest, rather the song that best defines them and their career. That's arguably even tougher than the best song to some. So what do you guys think? (While we're at it, if you can think of the same for any other band you can think of, feel free.)
But in reality? I'm working on the island project from home. And I was too tired to work anyway. Soo... how's dem ToyFair pics? Yeah and stuff. Oppression from Admins and stuff. *running out of blogging material*
So, I was browsing the web the other day, and I saw a collection of logos based around the NFL teams with both German and Italian Football (Soccer) club logo concepts. I was impressed, but the two Seattle ones were kinda meh. So I made my own using a better shield. (The watermark's kinda to keep someone from stealing it and calling it their own outside of BZP. That'd irk me to no end if someone had.} It could use work, I'm not a fan of those stripes (I'd like to find a better solution)
I just learned that Scott Menville will be in LEGO Batman 2. As Robin. ....... Holy carp. NOW I'M DEFINITELY GLAD I RESERVED THIS GAME 8O Also it means Robin's still Dick Grayson. Was kinda hoping we'd have Tim Drake by now. But mainly because I'm a bigger Nightwing fan anyway. Also they better let Green Lantern have the ability to construct green objects like mechs and stuff. ... And we need a Teen Titans-themed level, by the way. ... And Justice League. Though how Flash will work
I am in the process of planning a System Building Contest here on my blog.
Feel free to suggest a theme, maybe we'll get enough interest to actually do something amazing.
All I know so far is all entries will be voted upon, then judged by top folk (also known as me, and maybe a few friends XD I'd love to ask my boss Dan Parker to judge, but he may be too busy, who knows.)
So let's get some ideas flowing.
So yeah, I entered XD I like the original source more, of course... but I'm proud of what I built. Because I've been requested to do this, I'll share it here in the blog: Model built by Steven Wert, parts provided by The TbP Group, assembled in the City Blocks Tacoma LEGO Art Center. Thar, now my boss won't say I didn't say it xD
