End Of The Semester

It's that time of the year: end of the semester exams, projects, papers and presentations. Unfortunately for me, I've got a huge pile of assignments to complete, so I probably won't be very active for another week-and-a-half to two weeks, unless I get an email on my phone.   In summation, here's a list of the things I can remember off the top of my head that I have due soon: 3-4 Java Tutorials 1 Java Program multiple Java quizzes and 1 Java test a group Ethics paper in Management another tes

Eight-to-five

Working from 8am to 5pm is getting really old, really fast. Though I have been learning interesting things. I've mostly been rebuilding computers and taking inventory on things, but my sponsor explains some little things every now-and-then.   I suppose I should temporarily quit my other job...so I actually have some time for myself...instead of going straight from the internship to the bookstore.   But once the 10 weeks of the internship is up, I know I'll be rejoicing when my checking accou

E3: So Far

Want:   Halo: Reach (Space battles!) Gears of War 3 (4-player co-op/intense battles!) Dead Space 2 Bulletstorm Metal Gear Solid Rising (my jaw literally dropped at this game) Medal of Honor Fable 3 Dust: An Elysian Tale (the art of this game looks amazing) Xbox 360 'slim'   And that's all only from the first day of E3!   I thought Microsoft had a decent event. They started off with a bang with showing Call of Duty: Black Ops, MGS: Rising, Reach, Gears 3 and Fable. Then they started s

E3, Initial Thoughts

A few big name companies had pre-E3 press conferences today. I watched Microsoft's presentation and parts of Ubisoft's.   Halo 4 looks genuinely amazing. The new enemies, environments, weapons, gameplay and multiplayer videos I've seen have completely reassured me that 343 knows what they're doing with the franchise. That live-action trailer was pretty intense. The rest of Microsoft's presser was interesting up until they brought out Usher to announce Dance Central 3. His performance simply wen

Dumb And Dumber

Best quotes:   Harry: Yeah I called her up. She gave me a bunch of ###### about me not listening to her, or something. I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention.   Dale's Man: They're driving an '84... Sheepdog.   Lloyd: Mock Harry: Yeah! Lloyd: Ing Harry: Yeah! Lloyd: Bird Harry: Yeah! Lloyd: Yeah! Harry: Yeah!   Lloyd: I said, "Do you love me?" and she said, "No, but that's a really nice ski mask."   Harry: You sold my dead bird to a blind kid?

Dragon Riders

So, who has seen the trailer for Eragon? Saphira looks amazing. Definately going to see that movie.   But of course, you guys have to read the book before you see the movie. Movies are the cheap way out of reading a great story. So yeah, read the books before you see the movie!

Don't Judge Me!

These things are addicting. Also, great time wasters. More about me... Was it a boy or a girl to text you last? I honestly don't remember. My phone died a long time ago. Having no cell phone is not fun.   Are you afraid of falling in love? Yes, actually. Dirty Santa

I need a Dirty Santa gift idea!   Keep it under $10. (Preferably something I could get at Wal-Mart or Target, etc.)   GO!   (I was thinking a box of oatmeal. No one wants oatmeal. )

Deathly Hallows

Such an excellent and enjoyable film. Indeed, splitting the movie into two parts was probably the best decision the directors could have made.   It's been over two years since I read the last book, but from what I remember, this movie was pretty spot on. Some parts got shorter scenes than others, but it's better than those scenes not being in the movie at all, which would have happened if the movie weren't split into two parts. The acting, for the most part, has been the best yet. Special effe

Dear Paolini

Dear Christopher Paolini,   WHERE IS BOOK 4? Sincerely, Your readers.   Does anyone have any suggestions for series that I would like, based on the fact that I like the Inheritance cycle (please don't come in here to hate on that series). I was in a Cracker Barrel in Virginia and found an audio book that caught my eye - the author is Naomi Novik. The series I found is apparently an alternate history set in the Napolean era which sounds freaking awesome. Any readers of this series?   F

Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan delivers, again. I could not have asked for such a great conclusion to this trilogy.   Much in the same way he captured Joker, Catwoman and Bane lose much of their ridiculousness from the comics to give us much more realistic and gritty characters. Anne Hathaway, in my opinion, did an excellent job convincing me that she holds no allegiances to anyone but herself. Tom Hardy played a great Bane, even if he didn't get to shine much as an actor. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is quickly be

Crunch Week

It's that time of the semester.   Midterms   Or, in my case...   One exam, one midterm, and two finals   So you're probably asking,"Watashi Wa, how do you have two finals half way through the semester?"   Well, dear friend, that is because I enrolled in three half-semester classes: Business Law and Regulation of Business, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.   "But you said you have two finals!"   Yes, I do. That is because I am currently only taking the two former class. I will pick up Ma

Congratulations, Nate

Hey everyone!   Our good friend and resident CS major Nate (aka Than the Moa if you're unaware) just got an excellent internship for the summer!   This is an excellent opportunity for him and I know he's been applying to many places in hope to get employed for the summer. So here's to you, Nate!   Good luck!

Congradulations

Well, my oldest sister has finally graduated from nursing school. The end of the road was a little rough, but she made it out just fine. Two members of the extended family came down from New Jersey yesterday to attended the pinning ceremony and the official graduation today, so it was nice to see them. I didn't have to go to school today, so I missed 2 test (history and English) that I'll have to make up on Monday. The teachers were supposed to have all of the grades down by today at 3PM, but oh

Community

Community has recently been proving itself to be one of the funniest shows I've seen in a while, ranking up at the top with 30 Rock and The Office.   Especially Abed. His character is amazing.   You should watch it. I believe it comes on right before The Office.   Also, Jim from The Office is going to start his own company. That show needs something new, since Jim and Pam have already gotten married.

College

For those of you who read my blog and don't know, I started college last week and am currently living on campus. So far, it's been a blast. I am taking Cornerstone of Business and Psychology on Monday/Wednesdays and English Comp 1 and Finite Math on Tuesday/Thursday. I was taking US History to 1865, but because this is only my first semester and I have to maintain a 3.0 to continue getting my tuition paid for, I decided to drop the class.   First day of school, I missed about 45 minutes of my

Coldplay

So my sister calls me at 1PM to tell me that Coldplay announced an American tour recently and that they will be playing in New Orleans sometime in June. I don't really listen to Coldplay all that much, but I've been wanting to visit New Orleans for a while now. I might be able to take a friend or two, too, so that would make it ten times better.   This totally makes up for the The Devil Wears Prada/A Day to Remember/Emarosa/Sky Eats Airplaine show I'm missing next weekend. But I'm still super
