Banned Books

okay. In english, we have an assignment to read a bannned book. The library gave us a large selection, and we had to choose one.

Okay, on the surface, the assignment makes complete sense. Learn about why books are banned/censored, that kind of thing.

Here's where it begins to not make sense.

Here's two example of books we had:

1:Harry Potter.

2:The Martian Chronicles.

...

What?

I mean, really. What?

That is probably a mistake, or something, but still...

I'm suddenly reminded of the recent Huck Finn republishing controversy.

The banned books list is certainly strange. I personally hate it when other people tell me what I can and can't read. My seventh grade librarian literally would not let me check out "The Giver", but had no problems letting me read "Jurassic Park."

I was both angry and confused. And slightly insulted.
