I was just thinking about something.

It started with thinking about this shirt, then thinking about how Ray totally has this shirt. Then I got to thinking about Ray (who wouldn't?). Then I got to thinking about how Ray, Andrew, [BANNED MEMBERS ARE NOT TO BE DISCUSSED], and I are the longest-running continuous DC-area Lego Convention attendees in the Bionicle community.

The starting point here is 2006. Some of the administrators went to BrickFests prior, but none have attended since. The BrickFest 2006 crew was Rich (Bionicle Rex), Andrew (Black Six), Michael (Kaiapu), Byron (Kopaka's Ice Engineering), Ray (InnerRayg), Shilo ([BMANTBD]), and me. A star-studded crew, if small by modern comparison! It was great fun (even though I didn't get to stay nearly as long as I intended), and we had some grand times.

2007 was bereft of a DC Lego convention due to BrickFest hemmorhaging, but 2008 saw its return in an improved form: BrickFair. Rich couldn't make it this time and Michael was not a full attendee, but Andrew, Byron, Ray, Shilo, and I were all there in full regalia. The next year, 2009, saw the loss of Byron due to marriage and moving and things of that nature (we're awaiting his return), and 2010 saw Mike unable to attend due to a cross-country relocation (again - come back!). But no matter the forces against us, Andrew and Ray and Shilo and I have made it to each one. Not even financial despair, bannings, substance issues, or hideous misunderstandings have kept us away.

So the revelation I had was that the four of us are THE HEART OF BRICKFAIR, the Four Horsemen of DC Lego. And that is supremely bodacious and I think it entitles us to consider ourselves cooler than everyone else. B)

I also think honorary membership should be extended to Pat (DeeVee), who didn't make it to BrickFest '06 but has been at every single BrickFair since the con's inception alongside the four of us. Also because we are not cooler than Pat, and because he is the most lovable guy (I love you Pat!).

The phantasmal cardboard cutout of Nate (Than the Moa) might also deserve mention.
