Flash > Brickfair
So I have come to a decision. I'm gonna buy some Adobe software (with Flash stuff) that will undoubtedly help me out in a web design career. Problem is, it's expensive. Like $400. Which is about half my savings at the moment.
It's also what I would expect to pay for a plane ticket to BrickFair.
So when I buy this software, I'm gonna be giving up on the idea of attending BrickFair this year. The issue is purely financial. But I won't have a job until May (hopefully) and I really don't want to blow all my earnings on conventions this year like I did last year. (I still need to get out of school, and another year's worth of tuition is expensive) Plus, the $400 is just the start of expenses for BrickFair. There's also lodging, food, registration, and the inevitable mass purchase of Lego products. And this year I'm determined to be more financially responsible, so I'm going to hold off on this trip. (And the same likely goes for BrickCon, since that turned into a pricey trip too, and it happens when school's in session, but I'm not writing that one off completely yet)
For the inevitable "BrickFair is awesome, you should give up everything to attend" comments... hey, I reeeally wanna go, but not enough that I want to return from the trip broke. Besides, I'll send in a few MOCs... gotta make the other Bionicle creations look better by comparison.
