Well, it doesn't really help that much, but at least it makes the year seem a bit longer. 2011 was just crazy fast.

 

Also, when would one celebrate their birthday when it was not a leap year? February 28? March 1?

Technically we could celebrate 6 hours of the leap day every year, but we tend to put it off until it's all accumulated into a single day...

 

But, yeah, people born on Feb 29th are actually caught in a slipzone in the space time continuum, so that they only age a year once every 4 years. (However, their life span is a quarter of the average humans due to this.)

The owner of the restaurant I work at is turning 8 today. =3

It's like the guy in The Pirates of Penzance.

 

He was apprenticed until his 20th birthday, you can see how that might be awkward.
