She's still going to be in future episodes as a background character, with derp eyes.

Hasbro said they're only modifying her for TLR.

It's the only episode where she was outright named "Derpy" and was given a voice that Hasbro deemed could be misunderstood as making fun of mentally disabled people. Normal Derpy cameos just involve her flying across the screen or standing somewhere in the background, which doesn't even come close to being potentially offensive.
