Okay, so there were a few things that I didn't fully like about the beginning... What I wasn't expecting was a completely different story after Season One. Love it. The story went from "Wow, this is a pretty cool series that I can totally relate with" to "This is awesome. It's simply awesome." It's like they deconstructed the first series and then reconstructed it. Kinda like- wait...
Those clever devils.
Yeah, so I'm at the part where they're at Briggs. Armstrong's sister is far different from what she was like in the first series. I am so happy.
This one's less light-hearted and has far more of a "this is a war" feel to it. I'm normally not one for a military story, however I do like fantasy. If a homunculus isn't fantasy, I have no idea what is. ;-; (I bet you can tell how eventful our first few days of vacation have been. XD).
Although I still don't know exactly what the big bad here is up to, I have figured something out, I think (though I don't think it's been revealed as of yet).
It looks like Father controls all alchemy in Amestria. Their Alchemy was supposedly harnessed from moving plates of the earth, however, if the people of the country were taught a different method that came from a specific source then they would be reliant on that method as it is all they know. I have a feeling its source deals with a philosopher's stone. Whatever their plot is, it isn't new, so that means they're trying to make something big, and something that's been in the works for some time.
Gluttony was supposed to be a portal of truth, however that backfired. Whatever this dude wants, it has to do with the chamber of truth. Something tells me the goal is human transmutation, or deals with human transmutation. I'm not sure if it's eternal life, though. =/ Then there's Xing. So much is unknown about that area and why eternal life is so important.
What I find to be even more intriguing are that the homunculus are made with philosopher stones. (By the way, how epic is Mustang?) That's another thing, Father seems to like creating homunculus. It's likely he is using them for research, though I doubt it has to do with resurrecting a human being. I think Father wants to know something so badly from the chamber. However, this could prove deadly and he seems to have no interest in his own destruction or reconstruction.
There's more to my ramblings, but I'll stop rambling. XP
Anyway, it looks like I'm in for quite the story. ^^ I'll be enjoying every bit of it.
