Lo leggerò, lo leggerò...

You know, IMO Italian is such a beautiful language. And for that, it's a language I'd love to be fluent in. The problem is, 4 years at school just don't really suffice. I mean yes, you're able to gain some basic skills, but just as with any language, practise is crucial.

Therefore, reading is also crucial.

At least this approach has always worked for me. So yesterday, when I found an italian fantasy novel that sounded interesting, I decided to give it a try.

Because even though I know that the first real book is always a challenge, it will get better afterwards.

And it would be a shame if I stopped studying Italian just because I'm not in school anymore. ^^

(In case anyone's interested, the book is I dannati di Malva by Licia Troisi. ^_^)

I've wanted to learn Italian for some time, as well. Mainly after I decided that I want to move to Italy as an adult. :P

That, and it's a really beautiful language.

Haha, I know what you mean. I took Spanish for three years plus one class in college (which was more of a beginner course, but it did branch out in vocabulary a lot, which I did like).

Now I can read Spanish aside from a few odd words okay, and I can form basic sentences. The thing is, I haven't kept in practice, so the technical aspects are fuzzy. ^^' It's a good idea to read a book in the language, and even more so to read aloud to practice the structure, pronunciation and accent.
