Because what I really need in my life at the moment is a bit more pain.

So sorry. It'll be worth it in the end. Or so they claim.

It really isn't. You have to wear a retainer most of the time. Its basically the same as braces except you can take them out.

And if you don't wear a retainer your teeth will shift back in place.

Good luck with braces and hope that they aren't on for long.

I've already gone through the retainer stuff. That thing hurt. I don't think that (here, at least) the retainer has to be worn again after the braces -- once you've got the braces off, that's it. You get around two years with the retainer before you get the braces on, though.

I wound up with some very small permanent retainers and a nightly removable one, but believe me, when I see how my teeth would have wound up without braces, it's well worth it.

Anyways, best of luck Vorex. It's not a fun experience, but you'll survive.

Not to mention all of the problems they can still cause AFTER that (apparently my retainer wasn't good enough, so I chipped a tooth).

Also yeah, you get to wear a retainer AGAIN, for the rest of your life. As long as you don't lie to yourself, it's fine. Feel free to accept it as an awful thing that happened. Happens to the best of us.
