I don't see Chrom being much more than an alternate for Ike, sadly. Nor is Lucina likely as anything but a Marth costume.

Now, Avatar, though...

I'm still peeved that Tiki was announced as a trophy, instead of as a new character. Even if Chrom is announced, he'll still be a third blue-haired male swordsman. And Awakening showed me (a newcomer to the series) that there was a lot more variety to draw from than just that.

I guess I can hold out for Avatar or Lucina... but Avatar is unlikely given the huge amount of customization available (yes, the Villager from Animal Crossing has many forms but they all have the same shape, size, and aesthetic). And Lucina would still tick two of the three boxes I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

I'm fine with Ike so long as Chrom/Lucina still makes it in. If they don't, I will make it my mission to kill every Ike in existence.

Actually, I could see Lucina being a costume for one of the other two characters for... reasons. Same with Chrom, especially for Ike; both have Aether, after all, and kinda the same build-ish...

Which would leave the third slot freely open for Anna, and I have no objections to that. =P

All this proves is that Sakurai still has power to put in whoever he wants.
