Font Test

If you've been around BZP long enough, you'll know that my trademark font is Copperplate Gothic Bold. Recently, I've noticed that it doesn't display correctly - I'm seeing Times New Roman, not CPGB.

Please let me know if that sentence is in Copperplate Gothic Bold. I need to know if it's a problem with my computer or a problem with BZP.

I'm seeing Times New Roman, but the page source says the text is in CPGB. I think the browser is falling back to the default serif font, which in this case is TNR, since CPGB isn't on my computer. Setting the font to just plain old Copperplate (which I do have on my computer) and bolding it separately works for me:

Actually, it works fine when I'm on my partition that has Office installed. Since CPGB comes with Office, did you uninstall it recently, etc.?

I had to re-install it. That could be causing the problem...although I run two versions of Word over here, and both display CPGB correctly.

I also have the font file for CPGB itself, which I've re-installed upon seeing this problem, with no change.

But it appears that it's a problem with my PC, not BZP. Good to know - I'll put it on my list to fix it.

I'm seeing CPGB, though I hope you're not planning to use that as your default font for everything you post. It'd be obnoxious to have to read full posts in an all-caps, serif font like that, in my opinion.

No way. I just use it for headings (like in here) and sig link text, when appropriate. (Although part of my mind would enjoy the idea of making just one post in CPGB for just the right effect, but that opportunity has not yet come. :P In any case, it's too crazy for posting default and is best used sparingly.)

Sometimes it appears in my banners as well, usually as white on black, but that would work regardless of whether this works or not. :shrugs:

EDIT: After uninstalling my office software and still seeing this happen, I'm pretty convinced that it's a browser problem. My system tells me that CPGB is installed properly, so something funky is going on. I need to get my browser and my Office software to behave like civilized human beings.

EDIT: Google Chrome is not displaying CPGB properly. When I set CPGB to defualt, it looks like Arial. I'm going to go yell at them.

EDIT: I have disabled a Google Chrome feature called Direct Write that may cause this problem: chrome://flags/#disable-direct-write

As this problem has been resolved, the entry will now be locked.
