Cinco De Mayo is like the Spanish version of St. Patties Day, in terms of "celebrating".

 

Which is why this entry is mainly for those who will do the "celebrating".

 

Be safe with whatever it is you have in mind, and just have fun. Holidays like this tend to lead to some horrible headline the day after.

Cinco de Mayo in English is "chink the mayonnaise"

Actually it means "May 5th".

We in the Netherlands celebrated something different on May 5th.

 

May 5 1945 is the day that the Netherlands got liberated from the Nazis by the American and Canadian armies.
