I agree with you about Dark Pit—while he's very much a clone of Pit, I find him to be MUCH more suited to my particular play style than Pit is, so I can't bring myself to hate him. I also like the subtle differences he has, like the weapons he uses (Electroshock Arm!), his voice, and even a unique victory fanfare based on his theme music.

Honestly it even makes me reconsider my dislike of Falco and Dr. Mario. After all, while I find both of them to be mostly interchangeable with the characters they're cloned from, perhaps they seem as different and unique for others as Dark Pit does for me.

But I still think Ganondorf deserves his own moveset. >

I'll always use Dr. Mario more than Mario since I preferred Mario's Melee moveset, but yeah. I doubt any of the clones will be my mains in the long run, since I can already tell that Dark Pit is a bit too slow for my tastes, but we'll see.

I've not played the new game (waiting for Wii U), but even in Brawl Falco and Fox were very different (and Falco was way better ). Even though some folks aren't a fan of them, I would much rather have extra characters with similar overall movesets with slight tweaks than fewer characters. Marth and Lucina would be a bit less excusable, but as Marth is my favorite character I'm baised toward ignoring that. As for Ganon and Falcon, I overall like the moves much better on Ganon, with the shadow element and all, and think of they're decloned Falcon should get the new moveset. He can keep his awesome KNEE OF JUSTICE though.

The main thing that disappoints me about Dark Pit is that now that he's been put in as a clone, he'll probably be stuck as a clone just like Ganondorf.

Either that, or he'll go the way of Wolf and Lucas.

Honestly, he should have had Pit's old moveset...I would've been fine with that.

Yeah, no thanks. I'll take the Electroshock Arm over that any day. 

But besides that.... I'm actually entirely okay with Dark Pit being in the game. I really enjoyed his character from Uprising, and that really comes in through his taunts, which are 100x better than Pit's. And yeah, those extremely subtle differences DO make him a better up close fighter, which I honestly love. He's one of my mains now, over Pit prime really.

Not only that, but he's my avatar for all things Smash 4 now. Online icon is Dark Pit, Street Smash chip is Dark Pit, main fighter used online is Dark Pit.... Yeah, you get the point.
