If it was really awesome, it would make sense. And when it does make sense to dual-wield swords, odds are they're not katana.

I don't see Roronoa Zoro in action. I don't watch One Piece.

Oh, that's where I'm different. I could care less about realism as long as whatever I'm seeing is stylish and crazy enough.

 

That's why I still watch RWBY, I could care less about whatever plot they've set up, but gigantic scythe-sniper rifle combos along with weaponized canes of all things..... I'm not crying. =P

The limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief for a given element is directly proportional to the element's awesomeness.

I'm far from ignorant of that idea, but I don't put any stock in it. My disbelief is not suspended by awesomeness; rather, it is suspended by things that make sense, even if they only could make sense in the world of their work. Awesomeness is fine so long as it gels well with reality.

So how would you react to Big Hero 6, which has technology based off of ongoing research in reality but extrapolated into what they could become rather than what they are right at the moment? Soft vinyl medical robots are a thing, as is controlling technology through brainwaves. But neither are as advanced or fluid as shown off in the film... Yet.

My disbelief is not suspended by awesomeness, rather, it is suspended by things that make sense, even if they could only make sense in the world of their work.

So, if it's fine in the context's reality, I can appreciate it.
