oops

Taka Nuvia

...my last blog entry is from April? That's a tragedy. :/ Anyway, where have I been - mostly uni stuff, my thesis is taking up a huge part of my time. Also, I don't really know what to talk about, so, thus the silence. I am sorry.

(heck, over the course of the semester I even got up earlier than I normally woukd so I coukd cram in some time for solving exercises for that one course because time would not suffice otherwise. There really was a lot to do. :/)

But now with the holidays coming up I should have more free time again, meaning I'll be more active on here again, too. So how's everyone been in the meantime? :)

I'm alright. I was supposed to have a summer class, but it was cancelled, so I'm kind of just... Not doing much. Atrophying mentally. I've got a summer job, but it doesn't exactly engage me much. But the summer's always been my least favorite season, so it's no big loss. It'll crawl on by before too long.

On that note, know any good books? I should really get back to reading like I used to. Now more than ever.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're doing well, and especially that we'll be hearing more from you in the near future. How's your thesis coming along? I can unfortunately only recall that it was something to do with aerosol physics. How do you gather data for that sort of thing?

A tragedy?

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Taka Nuvia the wise?  I thought not. It's not a story the forum users would tell you. It's a blog legend.

Taka Nuvia was a member of BZPower, so powerful and so wise she could use the blogs to talk about life. She had such a knowledge of the blogs that she could even keep the ones she cared about up to date on her life.

The blogs are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. She became so powerful, the only thing she was afraid of was forgetting to update her blog, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she posted a blog entry with the word "tragedy" in it which summoned SPIRIT, then he commented on the blog with a tired meme.

Ironic.  She could save others from blogs, but not herself.

It's always nice to see you around ^^

You seem to be putting in a ton of effort into the uni stuff, so I hope that it's at least going well, and that you're not overworking yourself too hard. Enjoy some rest during the holidays ^^

I'd honestly love to hear more about your studies, since until like, sophomore year of undergrad, I was convinced I needed to go all-out in physics (and ended up doing French lit). So it's cool to see someone else doing it~

Hm, books... I'm currenty working my way through "Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Though Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and The Tenth Dimension" by Michio Kaku (albeit in a german tanslation), which is a popular science book on higher dimensions and things. And surprisingly easy to read IMO.

As for fiction, not sure, haven't read much in that direction lately. ^^"

It's going alright, I am a bit less eficient than I'd thought, but that seems to be normal since it's an experimental work...

You gather data with a measurement device =P Nah, -bad- jokes aside, the thing is that because aerosols can come up in many different sizes, ranging from very small to very large, you use different methods for each size. My work is mainly to combine the measurements of two such devices, where one works with optical methods (essentially a time-of-flight measurement), and the other with electrostatic methods, which leads to different particle sizes you cannot directly combine. Though atm I'm still at the point where I check if the instruments are actually compatible in the overlap region. :3

Thanks! =D Yeah, this semester has definitely been more straining (exhausting? was going to say stressful but that's not entirely true...) than the previous ones. For some reason, however, I am not yet as tired/done as normally at this point. ^^" I'll try to get some rest during the holidays, though.

Maybe I can find a format to write about it more regularly, then. :)

That's cool, didn't know! What's French lit like?
