Greg, I owe alot to you.

I once PM'ed you because at the time I was getting severely bullied by some people, but ever since you gave me advice, nobody has picked on me ever since.

I hope you know that to alot of people your alot more then just an author.

Never received a response to my PM, which would seem to add fuel to the idea that this was all fake. And, thankfully, I received a very nice PM from a member's Mom who had seen the blog entry and wanted to reassure me that BIONICLE was very welcome in her house.

Probably a prank but if it is true I wonder why did the bullie's scar his face and brake his collar bone just because he likes toys?My guess is that it wasnt just over Bionicle but the brother just speculated it to be.

Isn't it odd how interests like Bionicle bring pain to certain people... I feel really sorry for this boy, I am used to bullying for my interests, including Bionicle, but have never seen it taken this far... While on one hand, if this person does seem to despise his brother's Bionicle obsession, he certainly seems to care very much for this brother of his if he is willing to go make an account on a forum about a toy line which he supposedly "hates", and to go to all of this trouble to contact you and not email another public face of Lego. I recommend PMing the guy again, but first, check if he has been active since he PMed you, and if there has been an abnormally large lapse of time between he PMed you and his normall lack of daily/weekly activity.

While he will defend the truth of what he said, as he did in his PM to me, he seems to lack the ability to back up his aggressiveness towards Greg, which explains why he hasn't the courage to reply to inquisitive PMs. I figure he is aware that he went too far in his PM to Greg, and is too embarrassed to speak civilly to Greg, which would require that he first apologize.

And VtP, please don't call it a lie without evidence. There is still a chance that he is telling the truth about his brother, as it is not beyond some bullies to hurt a kid in such a vulnerable position as this kid's brother appears to be. I've been lucky, but there are bullies that will do as much as has allegedly been done to this kid's brother. "Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" is a very good philosophy, and I believe it would do a lot of good in this situation.

2. If he did find out the web site how would he know how to pm Greg and which username it was?

3. If your brother is beat up because he likes bionicle, why would you go to the author of the books instead of someone else? If he didn't know much about bionicle, then he wouldn't know much about the storyline and would probably think that his brother was interested in the toys, so he should have contacted set designers or something.

In my own opinion I doubt that there is any truth in this story, because of a few things in it. One of them is posters...there are no BIONICLE posters/pictures to my knowledge. And a broken collar bone would be hard to cause by just a gang of bullies. If it is the truth I do feel sorry for him, because Ive seen the stress people being bullied go through. But why would he not just send a letter to the LEGO company, why would he join BZPower and tell Greg, I dont get that. He says he doesnt know anything about BIONICLE but in a post he stated that he has a green one. In my own personal view I think this is fake, and BIONICLEFan606 is just looking for his moment.

Assuming the PM is true, even with all the valid points stated against it, I would connect the bullying to the boys social reclusivness rather than his interest in BIONICLE. From my experience, people only ever bully someone if they find that person annoying or hostile in any way. It 'is' possible to have an independent hobby and not be excessively ridiculed for it, even in American and British schools which are more stereotypical that way.

If, however, it was just because he likes BIONICLE, then I guess those people havn't yet learned not to judge someone by physical properties. Hopefully, they will in the future, in which case they would regret assaulting BF606's brother.

Have you considered that that may have been an exaggeration? "Reclusive" could mean never wanting to spend time with the family or spending all his free time online, but doesn't necessarily mean that he locks himself in his room and never lets anyone else in.

Probably because my original post was found by him to be the most offensive one that he personally felt was untrue.

Nonsense. I have plenty, as do some of my friends. They were released in abundance in '01 and '02, and many are still released via the magazines and LEGO-related events.

By sending a PM to Greg, he could be a lot more personal in his letter, and moreover he could be safe in assuming that it would be read and not just thrown out. Anyway, from his posts he doesn't seem too knowledgeable about BIONICLE, so he could honestly think Greg is in charge of BIONICLE, which something that anyone without a massive interest in BIONICLE might think.

I am still not sure what to think about that post. However, considering that he would have to go through a lot of trouble to get a username and password since he and his brother have the same IP address, it seems more than likely that he just used his brother's account. It also seems unlikely that he's just "looking for his moment." He hates or hated BIONICLE for some reason or another, and therefore he released that through this PM. Perhaps attention is a factor, but not so much of one as his own anger at BIONICLE.

I will PM this member again to ask whether I can post the contents of his PM, but until then try to refrain from making any accusations that you cannot prove.

I know i do get bullied sometimes for liking bionicles but mostly by my friends or ppl who just try and get ppl to like them. But why would he think that u r responsable for his brothers misery? you didnt beat him up or even do anythin except help right the story.

He would have had to have been really upset over all of this, usually people don't take that much time just to find out the author of a book when he could probably looked up Greg's phone number on the internet or something.

Of course I considered that his brother had books, what i was asking was "how would he have known that Greg had any authority on bionicle other than writing the books?"; for all he knows, Greg could have been told what to write by the story by the bionicle story team, and just had to write it in a way that kids could understand it.

Who else would he hold it against? Even if the bullies in question didn't go so far as to break his brother's collarbone, they still don't seem to be the sort of people that one would like as their enemies. Greg, in making himself available to the BIONICLE fan community, would be a primary target for someone so blindly upset as this person must have been. (I say "blindly" because he was obviously in a clearer frame of mind when he PMed me than he was when he sent this injurious PM to Greg).

Tried to understand how Takua got the Avohkii, how the MAsk of Life can save Mata Nui, or how Greg writes the story? No. Then TRY! Try to see OUR point of view for once. I still don't understand why someone would personly blow someone to artahka just for liking something? It makes no sense. And why not blame the person who actualy beat his brother up than by the author of his hobby? I mean, i had to go through a whole school year of people who are beyond the means of the pit calling me everything that could get someone kicked off this site, partialy becuase of my intrest in bionicle and neopets and basicaly being HUMAN.

Anyway. Harsh. I wonder if it was real or not. I like BIONICLE, but sometimes I go for months at a time with out even caring for BIONICLE longer than 10 seconds. Other times, it's like BIONICLE! I'm confused as to the origin of this PM.
