2020 Reflections

Well, 2020 is finally over. Look for that one in the history books fifteen years from now.

Figured I'd go ahead and do what no one asked for and talk a little bit about the past year. There were a few significant things that happened (aside from the obvious). Expect your usual nonsensical rambling.

First major thing would be starting a new job. I quit my previous job of five years where I was being very mistreated and used and started my new one where I'm much happier. I'm not going to bore you with too much detail, but basically I get to play on the computer all day and make things out of wood. It can be stressful sometimes because I'm literally the only one in my position, but it has its moments, and I've definitely learned a lot.

Unfortunately I've started to let my anxieties get the best of me. Again, I'm not going to go into too much detail, but now that I pretty much work alone and don't interact with people very often I've become pretty reclusive. I get really anxious even thinking about going out and doing things or seeing someone I haven't seen in a while. I really wish I could stop feeling like this, because I know I'm being irrational, but I guess it is what it is.

I rediscovered my love of reading, and reread all the Bionicle novels, and all the Narnia novels as well. I loved those books as a kid. I also finally dipped my feet into the world of Star Wars books and read the Thrawn trilogy, which was excellent. I started the Hand of Thrawn duology and am currently on Visions of the Future.

I guess that's really it. My life is pretty uneventful lol. Songs like Down in a Hole and Brush by Alice in Chains really resonated with me. As far as new year's resolutions, I have nothing except make it until autumn when we get into the good seasons and holidays lol. So uh, buh byyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Oooooh! I just started the Thrawn trilogy (technically, started Heir to the Empire) for the first time, after liking the Republic Commando series more than I ever thought I would, and then buying way to many used books from the internet and feeling like I'm saving money by buying them used haha

I'm not going to spoil anything, but the second half gets reeeally good. And I guess that's saving money? I often find when buying used books that by the time you add shipping it's really only saving about a dollar or two.

Congrats on getting a job you enjoy, it sounds very cool! What sort of wooden things do you get to make? I'm really sorry about the social stuff, I know those feels and hope it gets better for you. :/ Awesome reading choices by the way!

Thanks. ^^ The company mainly makes stuff for houses, e.g. doors and shutters, but in my area I get some of the more complicated things like arches, posts, chairs, bed swings, and so on.

There's an example of a deck we recently made. Looks a lot cooler in person. :P

Thank you and thank you again lol. Bionicle and Narnia were two of my favorite series growing up.
