i completely agree with the person you were talking to. you care enough to devote to time to the subject, weather you disagree with said subject or not. when talking about something you care about some aspect of it.

I agree with that as well. What we're talking about is if someone tells you something and your only response is, "I don't care." In my opinion, saying you don't care and moving on doesn't mean you do care. 

The whole discussion is stupid, but that's the kind of dumb stuff you talk about when you're bored.

That's the same thing he says. .-. I still disagree. If someone tells you something, saying you don't care doesn't mean that secretly you actually do care. You're just telling them you don't care about it and don't want to think or talk about it. 

well, you care about the topic in such a low capacity that it's negligible. so it matter very little, or perhaps not at all

I agree with you, Bambi. The genuine not caring. & Just ignoring someone’s inquiry instead of giving an honest “IDC” seems rude. There are so many questions that I legitimately am not invested in/am not spending the brainpower to think about.
