From page 1 to 759, it took less than 24 hours to read, as it is now 10:49.

The book was brilliant, but I'll get into all of that later. What I need toi start with is what I couldn't say last night- the festivities, the wait, the one gratifying moment when I lifted Book 7 into the air, and proudly declared "I OWN HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS".

Chapter One

~6:30 -- 8:00~

It was all planned. It had been for well over three months. The trip to Boston was to hold many wonderful experiences. The Sox game, the movie, even just lying down on a sandy beach, content in my own little world (and of course, occupying myself in a rather interesting little project). But none of those happy little moments could live up to what I came accross on the night of the 20th of June, 2007.

At around 6:30 we got ready to depart. I was dressed in a black robe, that was once my oversized Grim Reaper costume from Halloween several years ago, and my Darth Sidious hood while waiting in line to see Revenge of the Sith. But now my costume was transformed from the Sith Lord to a Death Eater. I then fashioned myself a wand out of a stick and some masking tape, and stepped out onto the street with my parents. Of course, my costume would have been a while lot better if not for the Red Sox baseball cap and t-shirt that I insisted on wearing. There was something quite amusing about being a Death Eater/Red Sox fan.

The drive down to Harvard "Hogwarts" Square took maybe 20 minutes, and yet it felt more like an eternity. One of the first things we saw once we stepped out into the Square was the line. Several hundred people were waiting to recieve colored bracelets that were to "prove that they actually pre-ordered Harry Potter 7" or something like that. We were almost considering trying to get into that line, when we heard that the books would be sold out by the time it was iour turn. After no debate, we let that area and never returned (DUN DUN DUUN).

The next half hour leading up to the festival in the Yard were rather boring. The only events were that we got some pizza, and decided to go to Harvard Book Store for Book 7.

My parents could sense my longing to get to where we were meant to be, so we crossed the street and entered Harvard Yard.

Chapter Two

~8:00 -- 9:56~

Imagine an immense crowd of people. Okay, now imagine 100 more. Right, so now imagine that more than half of them are dressed up like Harry or Hermione or Malfoy. Now imagine a band called "Draco and the Malfoys" singing a rippoff of "99 Red Bolloons" with a slight Death Eater twist.

Now you know what Harvard Yard was like.

After about 10 minutes, "Harry and the Potters" entered the stage. The crowd immediately roared with cheers, then laughter as the band sang song after song. The shortest one (and, coincidentaly, the only one I can remember) goes something like this:

"Hagrid: Is fun to hug.

Hagrid: Is full of love.

Just don't get STUCK in Hagrid's beard."

Yeah.

A lot more songs went by, and they repeated the Hagrid one quite often. At 9:56, I decided that it was time to get going. We wanted to beat the crowd to Harvard Book Store, and they'd all be leaving at 10:00.

Chapter Three

~10:00 -- 12:00~

Not much happened while in the book store. I read some of "The Subtle Knife", then decided to look around the store. Outside, I found some Harry Potter trivia, where I failed to answer all but one question (which I actually cheated on). This girl next to me, she must have been about 9, answered every question in a heartbeat. She even answered several before the question had been asked.

Then we stood in line for an hour. We weren't really near the front of the line, in fact, it was more or less the back half. But when the doors opened, and I saw what the employees of Harard Book Store were holding- the time flew by. Potter after Potter were recieved by the fandom of J.K. Rowling's work, and I even managed to get a box. It was white, and cardboard, and it had once contained the unread copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

At long last, I recieved the book. At long last, I opened the first page. And at long last, I read the first word of the final Hary Potter Novel:

"The".

Chapter Four

~The Aftermath~

I read half of te first chapter in the car,m and when we got home, I plowed through the rest of it, and te second. Even the third, I think. But all great things come to an end, and I slept.

I read Harry Potter when I first awoke.

I read Harry Potter in the long car drives.

I read Harry Potter after brunch.

I read Harry Potter on the beach.

I read Harry Potter in Wal*Mart.

I read Harry Potter while eating ice-cream.

I read Harry Potter while eating dinner.

I read Harry Potter from 7:00 until 10:49.

And I finished Harry Potter within 24 hours of first recieving the book.

Chapter Five

~Photos~

Alas, I cannot upload over 15 photos to Maj right now (after resizing and editing them, of course) for I need to be off of the computer in three minutes and pack for the trip to California tomorrow.

So those pictures will be updated when the time comes, and until then I say:

I finished Harry Potter and the Deatly Hallows. And it was great.
