Sadly, I must end the Smash Factor. Forever. There will never be another one.

 

Someone just lost there mind right now. I'm not actually ending this, it is fun. Instead I am announcing something. Imagine that. Me announcing something. Funny.

 

I will be hosting an Online Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament in my blog. I'm still working on some details so don't expect everything right now.

 

Smash Factor: Tournament

 

Start Date: April 12th, 2008

 

Mark that date on your calender. Or my calender. Mark it on somebody's calender!

 

I'll give you a few detail, no set rules have been made just yet.

 

Small details:

-Unlockable Stages will be allowed!

-Unlockable Characters will be allowed!

-Items must be turned on to medium!

-Smash Ball is on!

 

If you don't like items on because they take out the skill... tough luck. They add more randomness to the game and keep it fun. wich is something the professional Smash Bros. players seem to have forgotten.

 

Now then... let's discuss prizes.

 

Prizes! Yay!

- Some Nintendo stuff will go to winners... (I'm not telling you what it is yet. :P)

- I will also purchase a 1-Year Premier Membership for the first Prize winner.

- 2nd place will get a 6-month Premier Membership

- 3rd place will get good intentions.

- Possibly other stuff.

 

Yes, I will be buying those Premier Memberships with my money. So I expect the winners to make a blog. :P

 

Entry information!

Entry is open to anyone who plans on having the game before April 8th.

 

April 8th, 2008 is when I will stop accepting entries! If you don't have the game by then you won't be in the first tournament!

 

Preliminary entry starts here. If you do plan to have the game, comment here or PM me. This will give me an idea how how large it will be. (Right now I'm thinking of a 16 person tournament.)

 

Entering now puts you on a list. I'll be contacting everyone on that list as we get close to the start of the Brawl to make sure they have the game. If they don't... they get taken off the list so someone else will have a chance. First come, first serve. People will be on the list in the order they contact me. (Time of comment/PM.) More details on that later...

 

More Details later... I will anwser some questions/comments now though. ;)

Oh, and btw, Ganondorf, Falco, and Toon Link are actually apparently really different from their old melee versions. Toon Link and Falco in particular seem to be really different from Link and Fox. I'm really liking how fast Toon link seems to be...

Although it would've helped if Sakurai gave them different final smashes.

And I'm eyeing that premier membership. I need a blog....

Sign me up. My brother plans get the game, when it comes out, so hopefully I'll get to play it. Although I personally think I lose most likely, since I never was good at playing Super Smash Bro. games.

 

Of course, I won't know till I try, so we never know.

I hope Australia has Brawl by then.

 

And I personally find Melee more fun without items.

As of now, it'll be probably just a North American Tournament. That way there will be little to no lag. I am still unsure what the lag will be between different continents.

 

Right now I'm training in Melee without using items.Training for a tournament I will probably lose. (I hope to make it past the first round. :P)

Yup, just about anyone can join.

 

With ~Bandoo~ added we now have 16 entrants. Here's hoping to 16 more!

 

A few days after the release I'll send everyone a PM to see if they have the game and a Friend Code. I'll be updating my list with those, once the list is for the most part full, it will be published. Right now it is a draft entry.

 

I'll bump this entry soon as well.
