Metallic O'Dalek Posted June 14, 2008 That's annoying. I hate it when a computer won't read any games. =/ Quote Link to comment

Israeli Toa Posted June 15, 2008 That happened to me too... Paid $50 and it doesn't work on my sweeeet laptop. I hate it and don't understand why it has such high system requirements. Let's have a giant party to be sad together! Quote Link to comment

Brave Dragon Posted June 15, 2008 Someone tried to convince me to install Bioshock, because he apparently bought it because it was cheap, and not "I got the processing power to play it, lols." 'course I don't have a plausible video-card or ram to run it and it crashed terribly. x3 Usually there's an option to disable a lot of graphics, but I dunno. :0 Quote Link to comment
Necro Posted June 15, 2008 Dang. Speaking of which, how has what you've played of it been? I've heard it's rather good. Same suggestions as what I said to get Assassins Creed to work to get Mass Effect working. Quote Link to comment

D: *Has a party and is sad with Israeli Toa* What problems are you having? Well, I'm just stupid, haha. My laptop is a Intel core duo, 2.2 ghz. I thought that was over the specs. It would have been if I had an AMD. But since it was an intel, noooo...I needed 2.4 So it was all my fault. It won't even start for me. But good luck getting it to work for you!!! If you get it working, you have to let me know how it plays... Quote Link to comment

I am a computer techy so I made sure my/the computer met the requirments, and it does. Sadly, it wont even start up for some reason. That happened to me too... EmperorWhenua Posted June 16, 2008 Computer games are like... Um, I forgot what I was going to say... I guess they are like EW's thoughts-- they seem compatible with it's abilities, but in the end, they end up being just another memory-stealing bloatware program. ~EW~ Quote Link to comment

Hopefully Bioware will send out a patch soon. Gaah. Stupid Neccy for missing three posts. >< @IT: Dang. You could overclock it though. Depending on brand it may be safe to increase it to 2.4GHz... @Lady K: Please do publish the review once it's working so I can coax my 17-year-old brother into buying it. @EW: XD Quote Link to comment
Malakyr Posted June 16, 2008 Don't play Video Games. We're busy enough as we are. I have to take care of sending people off, AngelFlame has his Epic and the GT. -DeathAngel Quote Link to comment
Jordboy1 Posted June 16, 2008 What exactly does your computer do when you try to install/play the game? And what type of computer do you have and with what version of Windows? (if it is Windows) *shudders at the thought of it being a Mac* EDIT: Oh, and Relient K is the best band ever! *is saving up enough money for their new CD next month* 26 tracks! lol -Jordboy1 Quote Link to comment
Lady Kopaka Posted June 16, 2008 @Lady K: Please do publish the review once it's working so I can coax my 17-year-old brother into buying it. I always enjoy writing reviews for some reason, so I will. Of course it MIGHT take a few weeks, cause I probably will have to wait for a patch or something. I might also do a review for Assassn's Creed to. What exactly does your computer do when you try to install/play the game? And what type of computer do you have and with what version of Windows? (if it is Windows) *shudders at the thought of it being a Mac* I start up the game (play), and it loads to a black screen...and well...nothing happens. :/ Strangly it doesn't crash and I can get out by ctrl + alt + delete with no trouble... If people really want to know my computer specs, it's: Windows XP SP2 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 3800+ [2.00 GHz] 1 GB of RAM (getting a second GB asap) DirectX 9.0c NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (512 MB) Not the fanciest computer, but it should work. Necro Posted June 16, 2008 @Lady K: Thanks. On the note of the problem, it sounds like there may be a scratch on the disc. I had a similar problem on disc 3 when I installed KOTOR II. Did ya check the back of the disc? Also, until it gets working, if I may, I'd like to recommend portal. Tis' fun and it's only $20. ^^ @Jord: Err, whats so bad about Mac? IMO they have a better interface than Windows, plus no BSOD. Quote Link to comment

Though Portal looks fun, I really don't have enough time or money to get anymroe games. :/ Quote Link to comment
Necro Posted June 17, 2008 Huh. Did you check Bioware's website to see if it's the latest version, and if it isn't did you download the patch? I also had a similar problem installing Neverwinter Nights(Also a Bioware game like the KOTOR series and Mass Effect), turned out I just needed to update it to the newer version. Kay then. Since the game just game out like....2 weeks ago(?) there is no patch at the moment, but reading through the Mass Effect main website the developers said a patch is on the way, and that's probably what I'm going to have to wait for. :Yami: Posted June 17, 2008 Yeah computers can be completely unpredictable with games sometimes and sometimes (Example: My copy of KOTORII worked for the first year or two I kept it in near perfect condition then it just stopped working completely for no reason) I used a PC for gaming for years though I got a 360 due to my computer being unable to play many games that were made after oh lets say early-2006 *Yami* Quote Link to comment
