Solution; Buy a Prius. Unless your trip is over 600 miles to and from, you should make it on one tank. With that it's not as much a conundrum as a simple choice of price over boredom.

Buying a Prius is the exact opposite of what I want. Remember, I want a cheap trip.

And I will be able to make it to Jersey on a full tank at least.
