This is for everyone who is using/thinking of using any type of 'Signature Pet', whether it be Kratta, Raptors, Leechies, Dragon Eggs or whatever it may be.

It's called the Signature Guidelines.

Read them. Know them.

Please, if you value the wonderful existence of your signature, make sure it follows the rules when adding any cool thingamabobs or doodads to it.

For example: If you have a 468x60 or 250x100 banner and decide to add a pet to your sig on top of that, realize that it WILL be removed. The limits are the limits, please respect that. If you want a pet in your sig, you will have to adapt your other images accordingly.

Make sure this also counts for the combined filesizes - remember that 100KB is the limit (about 100,000 bytes).

Do not be surprised if your sig containing one of every type, color, and size of pet and each individual description suddenly disappears, either. ;)

TOPIC STARTERS:

I know several have done this already and I appreciate it, but please - if you could make sure that members are aware of the signature guidelines before using your creations, that would be a great help - just providing a link to the Sig Guidelines in the first post can work wonders. :)

Maybe they should ban sig pets... for the best. I might PM B6 about it as a suggestion, but I'm not sure.

Why?

They really aren't harmful to anyone.

They're harmful to signatures, being all stretched-out all the time ;)

I've been getting annoyed of all those low quality sig pets anyway...

What rip-offs. I can't believe how many people use them.

Wow. Wow, Zahd, it never ceases to amaze me how anything and everything that comes out of a post by you seems to be flaming :P

I'm sure that not all signature pets are "low-quality rip-offs" (although most are :P) and some creators put in tons of time and effort into spriting them.

Gah.

It's called an opinion, and Zahd is much more honest when it comes to voicing his opinions. In this case I agree with him. Most of these sig pets can be easily reproduced with a 5 minute job in Paint. It's only a 20x20 square (there there abouts), so why not put some effort into it?

I would truly love to continue this argument, but it's grown stale already. I hate spamming up topics and blogs. :P

Anyways, notice a difference in these:

And these?

You see, it began as innocent fun. Some people like spriting, and just decided to make some cute little sprites to put in a signature.

However, other people think "Wow! I want to make some signature pets and have them become just as popular as the existing ones."

And bam. You wake up one morning and you find a load of hastily MSPainted sprites violating the signatures of five thousand members.

And it wasn't your fault, yet it was the entire time.

Geez. I mean, I should be taking the blame for 50% of signatures being removed because of making my own little sprites, maybe even blame Hihkan or Zikatano.

But there's nothing anybody can do about other people making bad sprites.

And now I'm ranting, not even arguing. Beause this is my worst nightmare D:

i am tent163phantoka.if you wish to destroy Sig Pets, then please read this before critizing them any further.the makers of all things Sig Pet work hard to create them.i like following the Sig Guidlines as much as the next member, but banning Sig Pets is going way too far.if Sig Pets are banned, then you're gonna get a heck-of-a-lot of angry PM's,dude.my 2 widgets,

I am not saying anything of the sort.

I am just reminding you to watch how you use them, because an overuse of them is a good way to get your signature sniped.
