New Laptop!
October 16, 2008
This fits under both good news and bad news for once.
All right, a couple weeks ago, I posted that my ThinkPad 600X Series laptop died. We did everything we could to try to save it--even bought a new hard drive--but eventually we realized that it was dead and something was wrong with the harddrive. At that point, the guy at Radioshack said, you're better off with a brand new laptop.
And so, that is what we have decided to do. I'm getting an Inspiron Model I1525-139B. Really sweet laptop--good gigs, good mem--and I can get my activity back on all my favorite forums, including BZP. On top of that, I CAN FINALLY DO MY GRAPHICS WORK AGAIN! You don't know how happy that makes me.
The catch, the bad news: the laptop is on sale on Best Buy's site for $499; regular price: $679. We definitely won't buy it if the sale ends, but we can't buy it now. Apparently, the people at Best Buy, if it's in stock, can have it to you in forty-five minutes if you go and pick it up from a local Best Buy. But we can't order because my mom's applied for a Home Equity Loan, and if we put anything on a credit card (and you have to if you order online), it will lower our chances of getting the loan.
So we have to wait for approval. *sighs* Which could take up to two weeks. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll decide before then; this laptop looks great.
