It really does. Stand Up (For the Champions)- Champs United.
I'll even go ahead and show you just why it fits with the 2009 Glatorian theme--though I think you'll see without my "narrative".
I was built to be the best
Number one and nothing less
The Glatorian have to be the best, number one, nothing less, to claim Bara Magna's valuable resources for their home tribe.
Leave me to my destiny
I have waited patiently
Their destiny, generally, is to save their home tribe. Sometimes they're going to lose, so they have to wait for that destiny to come true.
I have vision oh I believe
I know I can count on me
I'm not quite sure if I get the "I have vision" part, even in the song's regular context...but I'm assuming that it would translate to them having the vision of their tribe being best off. And of course they have to count on themselves--they can't truly trust Glatorian from other tribes, can they? Makes them rather independent.
So stand up for the champions

Their tribe, the champions, stand up and applaud, rejoice, because you just won something pretty valuable on that planet. Simple enough.

Representing the fact that they would be getting close to the end of the battle, and some really desperate maneuvers might be implemented at a point such as that. So it's really who wants the resources most, who's most desperate to win.
It's just life that's how it is
Cause we have our strength and weaknesses
For the Glatorian, that is just life and how it is. They have their weak points and strong points, physically and metaphorically.

I'm on the move make way for me
I already went through the vision part. And as they advance, battle after battle, aggression and pride would rise, and room would be made amongst the most honored Glatorian for the new champion.

I have to pick myself back up
Fall down, get down, lose a few battles--the only way to keep on winning is to pick themselves back up and continue the fights, true?
