K's Corner Contest #2: IATTAR Builders unite.

IATTAR (Interplanetary Association of Tracked & Thrust Assisted Racing) is a fan-made theme created by the amazing nnenn. The theme involves building tanks that race against each other in various environments.

This time: Build an IATTAR Racer MOC that follows all the IATTAR guidelines (Posted below) to compete in the IATTAR races. You can enter up to four racers, but they must all be in one entry picture.

Got it? Good. Go build!

Entries will be accepted from when this entry was posted until the deadline. The deadline is currently January 31st at 11:59 PM Central time.

To enter, post a comment with you picture in this entry. Make it look like this:

Entry Name:

Topic (If made):

There may or may not be an entry list.

IATTAR Guidelines: Your MOC must follow all of these and the K's Corner rules:

1. Tracks only. No wheels/skis/rails/hoverpads/balls/etc.

2. Thrusters, boosters, or rockets permissible (thanks to the DFA!)

3. Fins, wings, or spoilers (for those low-G, big-air moments.)

4. Enclosed cockpit for harsh atmosphere/environment protection.

5. Lamps/headlights: most league circuits are not self-illuminated.

6. No weapons... go to the outer rim for that nonsense.

7. And due to SST regulations, no more than 4 team vehicles per race.

Rules:

1) Painted parts are NOT ALLOWED. No non-LEGO parts. All other LEGO parts are fair game; however, for the most part, they should have Bionicle pieces and Technic pieces. There is no specific ratio, though. Pictures in which the appearance of the MOC has been edited in Photoshop or other editing software are prohibited. If either method is used, the MOC will be disqualified. The background may be edited, as long as it does not alter the appearance of the MOC.

2) Your entry may not have been posted on BZPower previously.

3) Any flaming will result in disqualification from the contest. Competition is good if you keep it clean. Everyone play fair, NO WHINING, no insults. I reserve the right to DQ any entry at any time for any reason.

4) Absolutely, positively NO CHEATING! Anyone found to be cheating or even suspected of cheating will face immediate disqualification from this contest and will possibly be banned from participating in future K's Corner Contests.

5) No "this is unfair" posting. Some people have more parts, money, time, etc... than others. That's life; we each have to do our best with what we have. Any excessive complaining may, at the judgment of Lakazorz, disqualify you!

6) Discussion is encouraged in the main entry. It's open for all questions and comments.

7) The contest is open to all BZPers, and so is voting. Advertising your MOC is fine by making a signature or avatar reminding people to vote for you, but mass-PMing will lead to immediate disqualification. So will advertising your MOC in someone else's thread.

SIGNATURE RULES!

**ONE pic allowed

**Pic may only be 250x100 pixels or 468x60 pixels or smaller

**Text may not exceed 5 lines

Anyone breaking the signature rules will lose 1 vote in the Preliminary Polls.

Prizes:

Haha, yeah right. If someone would like to donate something, I'd be much obliged.

Contest Host:

Lakazorz

Contest Assistant(s):

Mr. Cat

Questions that may arise:

Q. What is the System/Technic ratio?

A. There is no required System/Technic ratio this time around. All I ask is that you have a little of each.

Q. Can my entry have been posted on BZP before?

A. No.

Q. How many racers can I enter?

A. Up to four racers in one entry picture.

Q. Do I have to follow all the guidelines for the racers?

A. Yes, you have to follow all of the guidelines and my rules.

Q. What is IATTAR?

A. IATTAR (Interplanetary Association of Tracked & Thrust Assisted Racing) is a fan-made theme created by the amazing nnenn.

Get to work!

Thank you. :)

Mhm.

I'm entering but would a matoro claw be acceptable as a kick stand?

Yes.

Would technic gear chains count as treads? And instead of headlights, can our racer use radar, infrared cameras, or something of the sort?

Yes, that is what treads are. And I would assume no, it isn't that hard to add a yellow stud somewhere.

It isn't exactly that I can't find a place for headlights, I just think the idea of infrared sensors is cool. Could I make a headlight that sines in infrared? :P

I guess that would be ok. The main point of the headlights is so the driver can see.

and could a helmet be a closed cockpit

No.

Are we allowed to use this technique on the wheels as tracks?

Yes.

Actually...

Sounds fun.

I think you mean 'track' right? 'Tread' is the textured surface that touches the ground... whether it's a wheel or track or whatever.

And yes, technically it counts as track if the wheel inside is stationary... but that kindof goes against the funness of continuous track, don't you think?

Same thing goes with illumination: there are countless other ways of finding your way around in the dark but headlights are so easily recognizable.

Good luck.

Just make the radar infrared things high distinguishable. As if anyone that saw them would know exactly what it is. ;)

And that is the ruling on the wheels. ;)

Uhm there are tanks without treads. They are called APC's(armored personnel carriers). The only difference is they have wheels instead of treads. But they have the guns and all that jazz. If I can't enter one thats fine but my dad is very experienced with tanks because he used to drive them and he says they are the same. Here's a picture:

Is it fine if I enter one? Because a tank isn't a tank without a gun so basically racing tanks are the same as APC's.

These aren't supposed to be real tanks, they're SPACE tanks.

It really doesn't matter. I didn't make the rules, I just enforce them. The rules stand.

No.

Thanks for posting that, Mr. Cat.

this is not my entry but is this acceptable?

From what I can see, it's acceptable. I'd need to see a picture of the side to make sure that it doesn't have any wheels, just to make sure.

Either way, I don't classify quakebreakers as treads, so you can't use them.

-zorz-

You say you are going by nnenn's rules since he created the theme. If that is true, why are you breaking the rules for something else?

I see no breaking of rules here. He's nether confirmed nor denied the use of them, so I have to read between the lines. I don't think they fit the theme, so I'm not allowing them.

I'm getting tired of your constant complaining. One more complaint, and I'm banning you from the contest.

So I can have up to 4 entries, but they all have to be in the same team?

As in same color scheme?

D:

Or can a Team be very various, from like microscale to minifig scale to Technicfig scale, and with different colors and etc?

Ummm... color schemes I don't believe matter, but size does, I believe. I mean you wouldn't have a Technicfig size IATTAR on the same team as a Microscale IATTAR, would ya?

I don't have any official ruling on this though... but it kinda seems like common sense to me. =\

Since when did Lego have to make sense? ._.

I've seen IATTARs driven by a Frog, and the entire concept of IATTAR as a whole.

But I'll wait for official ruling.

It'd be awesome though.

So I could make them combine to make SUPER-MEGA-ULTRA-NINJA-IATTAR-GADJITRON.

Or some stuff.
