Yeah, it can get a little annoying. I'm not sure if anyone ever intends it, but to me, sometimes using it just makes us look condescending. Especially in MN Q & A. =/

 

Course, I've done that too. Never really meant harm, though.

But when appropriately timed, instead of making the sentence sound annoying, it makes the sentence sound creepy!

Exactly what I think, it's been used that way a lot, like:

 

"I'm pointing this out, but I don't want to look mean so I will use this emote that makes it somewhat less mean".

I always preferred :psychotwitch: over ;) , especially when the former was made from the code now used on the latter.

 

And I've been using my sign off emote since 2004, so if anybody had a problem with it... tough!
