Texting

You have a phone.

Yet you're fumbling a 26-letter alphabet over twelve small keys to type a written message in chatspeak, which seems to slowly be becoming it's on language.

When you could just hit the number you've undoubtedly assigned to them for speed-dial if you're taking the time to text them, then hit the send button and tell them over a phone call.

Humanity's obsession with texting heavily confuses me.

My friend's phone gets really bad reception at his house, so all he can do is text. I've become quite proficient at it, and managed to preserve grammar. :/

I never text, unless the person won't pick up in which case I have little choice... since their voice mail message is just too painful to sit through ><

It especially confuses me when it's a 17 year old who just got her license and is driving for the first time by herself texting her bff who she can't live without while jamming out to that soulja boy and slamming head first into every car or recklessly driving forcing any sane driver to assume there is an old person on the road and pull off before anyone gets hurt.

It has it's time and place, but it's not while controlling a 2 ton 80 mph sledgehammer.

BUT WHAT ELSE WOULD I DO WHILE DRIVING AND READING THE PAPER D*

XD I reserve a special hatred for people who multitask while driving. =3

Aye, those re the kinds of *censored*'s that are the cause of a new law making me have to wait another three months and take an on-road test in addition to the rest in a year or so when I try to get my license. ><

Actually (at least in Florida) new drivers have been required to take a road test for quite awhile, at least since my dad learned to drive. As well I believe the waiting a year after getting the permit is relatively old compared to texting.

Because you can't be talking on the phone at work and other places. Which is why texting is so much easier to get away with.

If you shouldn't be doing it then why are you?

I despise texting, and, like you, reserve a special kind of loathing for people who drive and talk on the phone.

It P***** me off.

Because class is boring. :P

Seriously, though, it isn't that bad. I text once in a while, but only if someone texts me. I don't usually initiate it, even though I have no problem texting while in class. I do have a problem with people who text while driving, though.

Because sometimes when you need important info, texting is the only way of communication.
