I heard this crazy story yesterday from a friend of mine that he'd bought this wave-emitting device from an absolute nut. This freak claimed that by placing two paddles on the side of his head and by setting the wave-emitter to a certain frequency and wavelength, it would convince your brain that certain ailments (such as acne) were there and then your brain got rid of them. Oh, and to make it actually work properly, half an hour later you're supposed to shine colored 50-watt light bulbs on yourself.

The only reason my friend wanted it is so he could get a wave emitter, which he promptly sold to his father for a profit.
