The Mt Report: June 2009
Already one full month into summer....*Sigh* Anyways, here's the high and lows of June, and what to look forward to in July.
EPIC WIN: Raid on Vulcanus. Awesomest book in a really long time. Especially how Greg portrayed the worries and concerns of Glatorian who are loyal to their village and the ones who just work for money. (STRAKK) Definitely worth checking out, especially the ending excerpt from the movie novelization. Makes me really want to see the movie
Other wins:
Ackar: Greatest fire weapon ever easily, possibly the greatest Bionicle weapon as well. Oh, yeah, and the guy looks pretty nice as well.
Stronius: I love the club, but what about that armor? It makes Stronius look 10 times bigger. This will be great for MoCing. (hint, hint, Mesonak)
Mata Nui: While maybe not so much as the other two, the great spirit is pretty cool. Only problems with him I have are the stupid shield has no offensive capabilities whatsoever...and his mask is really small. The blue eyes are win.
EPIC FAIL: Whoever decided this case. Some man at an Oakland A's game on mother's day sued the Athletics for "gender discrimination," because they were giving mothers free hats(keep in mind this was mother's day). The worst part? He WON. So much for whatever their plans were for father's day.
Other fails:
Transformers 2: Reminds me of Hancock. The first part was looking to be one of the best movies ever. Then comes the horrible plot twist. I won't say any more for spoliers, just if you're looking for this to be the movie of the summer....try something else.
Vastus: I cannot get over the way Lego designed this guy. Especially the whole staff thing. He has to raise his arms (or go in some really awkward position) to fire the Thornax, and his melee movement is incredibly constricted. Oh, and Lego went way overboard with the snakes.
In memorium: Ed Thomas, who was gunned down by a former player this past month. Most of the school and city is still in dissaray. They definitely need our prayers now more than ever.
Looking forward:
July 4th: Independence Day...for us here in the US.
July....sometime: Going to Miami. Don't worry, I know I'll have computer access there.
