Long Time, No Blog

Wow, it's been a while since I've been here. Life has been crazy lately:

3 Weeks ago:

My mom started getting a really bad pain in her left arm and had to go to the ER over it. It turns out that she's got Rheumatoid Arthritis, which basically, can lead to joint deformity and causes a lot of pain, so please keep her in your prayers.

2 Weeks ago:

My little brother, who is now 23 months old, got into an empty can of cashews. I haven't said this yet, but since my little brother was born (this is no joke, in fact it's one of the most serious unjokingly things in my life) he's been allergic to over 50 foods! These include: eggs, nuts, milk, soy, oats, barley, strawberries, peas, lagooms, every kind of meat except for fish (especially beef and lamb, they're deadly to him). So he has to have a special formula called Neocate Jr. which has lots of calcium and protein seeing as he's allergic to every source of protein and calcium.

So anyways, when he got into the can, JUST FROM SKIN CONTACT he broke out in a rash almost everywhere on his body, he got to canker sores on his lips, a swollen taste bud, and he got a yeast infection. So he didn't eat much that week seeing as his mouth was very irritable.

It upsets me, because some people hear that someone has food allergies and they think nothing of it and honestly, I was one of those people until my little bro was born. The thing it, it's a serious thing. You can't have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the same room as him because some of the particles get in the air and he gets all blotchy and itchy.

He really it a happy, healthy boy, and unless somebody told you, you wouldn't guess that he has food allergies, but according to both his allergy doctor, and pediatrician, he's one of the top 3 worst food allergy patients they've ever seen or heard of.

Luckily, most kids who are born with lots of food allergies, grow out of them completely (or close to) by the time they hit ages 7-10.

Last week/this week:

Thing's are starting to settle back to normal. I've aquired Defilak, Dekar, Thulox, and Morak (I'll post pics later when I've got more time). Thanksgiving was great, I think I gained a pound of of turkey, potatoes, veggies, pumpkin pie, and apple pie.

Not much else has gone on lately. I'll start the Random Fact Of The Day back up again in December, but until then, I've got a joke (well, not really, but it is funny) for you:

You know you're eating too much at Thanksgiving dinner when someone asks if you'd like apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, or strawberry pie and you say, "Yes please."

(Can be deleted after you've done the spelling)

It's spelled "Rheumatoid". Obviously, the H and E are silent.

I hear you. I hope your bro is okay. I've had awful allergic reactions to penicillen, dogs, and other things. So I can kind of understand a little of it. Anyways, nice to see you back.

Oh my, your brother suffers deadly allergies. Maybe you can pray to God to set your brother free from allergies.

Wow, that's awful about your brother... I'm not allergic to any type of food, I just get a little of a reaction to animal fur and stuff (but I couldn't live without pets), but nothing that bad. Wow. I'll pray for both of them. Now, I didn't know food allergies could go away at a certain age... interesting. Well, then, at least he's not allergic permanently.
