"You guys are going to go do a Studio Gainax production? Ha, good luck getting out of that with your fans happy." "...Spike, we read the script, it's actually pretty cool, and nothing like Evangelion." "Yeah right. Never work with Studio Gainax if you like happy people enjoying it." "...Didn't Neon Genesis Evangelion launch your caree-" "Shut up!" ~ A conversation most of the VA's probably had with Rolo's VA, Spike Spencer, when they were all recording vocal lines for Code Geass, which a lot of them were also in.
I really have virtually nothing bad to say about this show.
The humour was funny, the characters were great fun, the battles were awesome, the premise is incredibly entertaining(And hilarious from the people who brought you the manic depression in-a-show that was NGE), the final episode was awesome, and it has Kamina, who justifies it alone.
Plus it has Steven Blum, king of voicing gruff, manly, powerhouse characters, doing a flawless, hilarious, and excellent prime supporting character in the form of a perfectly-done Camp Gay stereotype. The fact that he manages to both get his voice that different-sounding and play so out-of-character is incredible.
Really, go watch it. It's only 26 episodes, even if you don't like it(And if you do dislike it you're a terrible person or just really depressed) it won't last long.
Seriously, go and watch the show. In all likelihood you will not be disappointed.
Content warnings: Language, fanservice, nudity(Sort of), guns, knives, swords, blood, kicking logic to the curb, explosions, fights of epic proportions, crass humour(Albeit played well), Gainaxing, utopian futures going to dystopian futures, drills that will pierce the heavens!, that feeling you got when you were eight and had just finished a bowl of incredibly sugary cereal.
