Bionicle - Year One - Need 3d Artists

Sumiki

Unity has been downloaded, the game will soon be started. However, there is one slight difficulty:

I don't have any 3D models of the Toa Mata.

So yeah. Post it in your blog, put it in your sig, anything: I need to spread the word on this project. It'll never work without the help and support of the BZPower community.

I wish you guys luck finding animators and good luck with the project too! I find it slightly ironic that BZP begins taking up enormous projects after Bionicle "ends". :P

No matter what you like to do, you can probably help out.

Well, I'd say "lead the project" but I think my hands are full at the moment. :P

Once again, I hope this project goes well!

I could make a model, but it would take me months just for one. That's if I had daily access to a 3D program, which I don't, unfortunately.

Maybe I can mess around with blender and see what I can spit out.

That's okay. I understand it takes a while to make 3D models. Still, I'd like to see what you can come up with. :)

To get the project completed before we all die of old age, we need to have more 3D artists than just one (or two or three, if a friend of mine agrees to teach me).

Bionicle: Next Generation should be able to donate some models for this, particularly the Toa Mata and I think we're going to be modeling a Muaka in a month or two if you need that. Good luck with the project, Sumiki!

One did and said that he couldn't do it, simply because he had the trial version and it had expired a long time ago - if you notice, most of those topics are from 2008. :P

Eeko, our leading animation guy, had this to say about using the same Toa Mata models for the Bionicle: Next Generation movies and the Bionicle: Year One games:

I'm reluctant to use the same models, as ours will be very graphic intensive, but I recently discovered a poly-reducer script built in to Blender, so I'll give it a go

Assuming it´ll work, that´s brilliant! :D

Are any of these models ready - and if so, can someone post a link?

If you still don't have a 3D artist, I'll be glad to apply! But I'm used to Blender, though. It'll take a while if I have to absolutely use Unity.

Here's something that I've been working on using Blender:

I'm still busy adding more details, but that's what I have so far.

We have one Toa Mata done:

This was done by Toa Renddslow. We'll be able to take the little backpack off of his waste for your project.
