If you've been to the cinema in the 3 months before new moon came out, Lautner's been narrating a trailer for the movie in which he states the 30lbs thing. Just FYI ^^

And no, I didn't watch the movie, I just happened to go to a movie with the trailer being played beforehand.

And to add to the discussion: The thing that makes a werewolf scary is not really it's looks (not the human looks) and it isn't the turning into an animal (because if real, that'd be darn cool if you ask me).

It's more the fact that the werewolf-myth is adressing dark aspects of being human.

For example the total loss of control and conscience, which of course mean becoming dangerous, because, without conscience, what's stopping you from bashing somebodies head in?

It goes far deeper, but I don't want to dive into it, I don't have all that time.

What it comes down to though is that Werewolves as figures of ficition are always subject to the authors imagination. Underworld claims to have werewolves too, unfortunately, turning blue and shirtless does not make you a werewolf in my eyes. And hairless Lupin in Harry Potter doesn't look like a werewolf to me either. Neither does the teenage girl from Ginger Snaps, nor Jack Nicholson in Wolf.

I just find it funny that this discussion has turned from laughing about some peoples ignorance towards "who looks better" ^^

@RCF: Werewolves, unlike vampires, were rarely associated with romance. There have been movies, TV shows, and books, in which there has been romance surrounding werewolves, but the focus of the mythos has never really been on romance. With werewolves of any kind, it doesn't matter which you would rather date, it's which one you need to protect yourself from. (Normally all of them.)

Great. The next twilight book is gonna have that Frankenstein is Jacobs uncle and Bellas mom is a mummy and The creature from the black lagoon will be a vampire.

And then they'll be werepeople who transform into whales on stilts.

Now who looks more appealing to you? The first discusting dude or Taylor Lautner aka Jacob Black.?.... It's a no brainer..... Taylor Lautner looks a heck of a lot better!
