I doubt that many people on BZPower know that much about the '80s. Plus it's a really narrow category.

There shouldn't be anything stopping them from taking some initiative and learning about the '80s. Just a few Wikipedia articles can yield plenty of ideas.

What I don't like about this is that half of it is essentially the last contest all over again.

 

Stupid Sci-fi 80's. At least block the "Sci-fi" part.

Huh?

 

Last contest you could build anything as long as it's science fiction. You weren't limited to a specific time period.

This contest you can build anything associated with the 80s. You aren't limited to a particular genre.

 

I fail to see how they're similar to each other...?
