Epics Competition
CONTEST IN SESSION
Feel free to use this banner but give credit to Sakaru
What Do You Need To Enter:
1. Write an epic or brainstorm an idea for an epic. The epic must be at least 10 chapters long but no more than 70. The epic may NOT be posted in any form prior to the actual start of the competition. That means if you just posted the first chapter of an epic, that epic is not eligible.
2. Post a comment here stating that you will be joining the competition. When you actually post your story, when the competition begins, PM me with a link to both the actual story topic and the review topic.
Rules:
1. Do not post your story in any form on this site (or any other site for that matter) before the start date, except for a prologue or brief quotes to get the reader’s interest before hand. You MAY post the prologue/introduction, if your story has one, before the actual start date. Nothing else may be posted.
2. You are allowed to write a story with two or more people. However, make sure the chapters get up on time. (McNuggets and LOI know what I’m talking about )
3. All stories must follow BZPower rules. I hope no one’s shocked by that rule.
4. You may write as many epics as you
The Competition:
1. For round one, each story will have 1/10 of its chapters posted. If you wrote 10 chapters, then you will post one chapter for round one. If you wrote/plan to write 70 chapters, you will post seven chapters for round one. If your number isn’t divisible by 10 then just estimate. I’m not strict about being precise. Just post at least one chapter that week and have them all posted by the end of round 10 (the last round). How you go about posting them is your responsibility. By the way, you do not have to post the epilogue (if your epic has one) by round 10. That can extend as long as you wish
2. Once you have posted your chapter, go and REVIEW other people’s stories. Give them a score (1 beings the lowest, 10 being the highest). The scores for each week will be averaged and that member will be given that many points. Everyone is required to review at least one other story, unless given special permission by me. For more stuff on reviews, check the next section.
3. There will be small contests that no one is required to enter, but can get you bonus points. Reward points (no, not credit cards) for each contest will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
4. After Round 10, the top 3 epics will go into a final round that will include a prompt related to their epics to figure out who gets first place, second place, and third place.
Reviews and Scoring:
1. For a score to be eligible, it must have review saying why. Don’t just give 10/10 because he’s your best friend. Consider it deeply and give the score you feel fits the story best.
2. If I suspect cheating and have proof, you will be deducted that week’s points.
3. If, for some reason, your epic did not receive any reviews for any given week, everyone else will be penalized by me giving you a perfect 10 points for your score.
The competition will begin Sunday,
Prizes: Your epic gets reviews! Isn’t that prize enough? Prizes will be announced at a later time. If anyone’s willing to donate prizes, please do.
Update 5/4/10: There is one month until the first chapter of your epic may be posted for the competition. I will be sending everyone who hasn't commented stating their interest to remind them of this competition. Once you post your prologue, let me know so I can announce it here.
