Colder Than Ice
So, we go disk golfing today. Nothing too different. It's actually really calm today-- practically no wind at all. So we start on hole one and do a pretty normal day (Birdied hole 4 for the first time ever :lol), that is until the dreaded hole 8. Hole 8 is a course designed by a freakish madman. You are shooting almost across water. Actaully, you are shooting across water. And disk golf disks generally don't float.
Well, I have a disk that does float, so I throw it and it lands on a little dirt area. So I go up and throw again. Right to the center of the pond. Generally we go play holes 9, 10 and 11 and wind back up near the pond. So we do that and the disk hasn't moved. It's so calm out the water isn't moving. So we play holes 12-19, come back and it's still just sitting there.
Now, each disk golf disk goes for $8-$12, so I'm not gonna leave it. Moreso, not my only floater. So I go swimming. I've been swimming before in this pond, and generally find some nice disks that I either keep or sell off. This time, however, it was COLD. I mean, not just step it in and "ooo it's cold". This is like liquid ice. Moreso, since I'm in the pond the disc is going the opposite direction. GREAT. So I dive it (to my regret) and suffer as I swim about 50 feet. I get my disk, and swim to the other side.
Yeah, I spent the rest of the time sitting in the car basking in the sunlight while my Mom went shopping and such. I'm still cold and smell nasty. Off to the shower...
