Start Your Own Country Day!
That's right, my fellow BZPers. It's time for another edition of Wacky Holidays with Sumiki! ()
Today we celebrate () the very thought of breaking away: Start Your Own Country Day. In this day, we can celebrate the spirit of independence that all of us have felt from time to time, though very few have gone through with it.
Sealand is such a place. Sealand is not really a nation, simply a structure made by the United Kingdom as one of the Maunsell Forts for defense against German mine-laying aircraft in World War Two. Located in the North Sea, six miles off the coast of Suffolk, England, it has claimed independence as it is in international waters.
Of course, let's not forget the Kingdom of Lovely, possibly the most densely-packed "country" in the world - over fifty-eight thousand people are "citizens" having registered online.
So go on! Be free! Find someplace to call your own and break away! (As long, of course, as you don't get yourself shot at by the people you broke away from.)
