Ubisoft Hates Pirates

Chols

Developers have moaned about gaming piracy, especially on Nintendo handhelds. But Ubisoft have used an anti-piracy measure that isn’t using the more draconian DRM. So anyone pirating this game will find one of the most unique anti-piracy measures ever made.

Anyone playing a a downloaded rom of Michael Jackson: The Experience DS will be treated to constant vuvuzela playing in the background well over the soundtracks. Interesting approach but not sure how effective it is.

Vuvuzela Hero is becoming a reality.

So was everyone just pirating all the World Cup footage?

Of course. Everyone knows pirates love soccer/football.

The ones with peg legs are retired athletes.

Who wants to pirate that game anyways?

People pirate everything on DS. It's crazy. :P

Kinda weird to port a dancing game to a handheld device, though....

Might be interesting; but from what I've heard, nothing beats Earthbound's Anti-Piracy.

Right before you face the final boss, it freezes and wipes your saves. I read it somewhere at one point when I was looking at beta stuff on some site.

If that wasn't the one Mother game Nintendo localized, I'd call that a work of pure evil. :P

NO. :(

You know what we need? A brand new Earthbound game, on Wii, cel-shaded, and localized in the West.

You gave us Starfy, now give us something we asked for. :P

It has an opportunity now that both Duke Nukem Forever and Megaman Legends 3 are getting made. =p

XD Yeah, I'm willing to believe anything is possible now. :P

Can't say I understand how the soundtrack changes just by you trying to pirate it. I'm sure it's super technical, though, so yeah.

Anyway that's pretty funny.

I think it doesn't overwrite the files, it just plays so loud that you can't hear the other sounds.

That's probably less effective though, since anyone with access to a rom could just delete that file.
