Hapori Tohu
Yesterday the latest episode of the Bits N' Bricks podcast went live, and it's a very topical one. In Episode 10 - LEGO Sonic Mania: A Conversation, journalist Brian Crecente and documentarian Ethan Vincent talk about the recently-announced LEGO Ideas set and the collaboration between SEGA and The LEGO Group. They interview LEGO Designer Samuel Johnson and SEGA representative John Choon to get the perspectives from inside each company and how excited they both are to be working together. There's also some discussion of the previous team-up they did for LEGO Dimensions, as well as some insight into the LEGO Ideas process as a whole and how SEGA interacts with its fan community. If you're looking forward the the speedy blue hedgehog's appearance in brick form, give it a listen!View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
Chronicler06
This episode was really quite insightful on the process of how approved Ideas models are further developed into actual sets, as well as the influence they potentially have on later sets that end up being made. While I personally have never really had any interest in classic video game characters like Sonic, I understand the appeal enough that I would not be surprised at all if we really do end up seeing more Lego Sonic sets over the next few years.
