  1. I have also found that the orange kraata is slightly shorter then the other equal level kraata I have, not very noticable to the untrained eye though, I have shot some macro images with my phone, and will try to post them very soon. The plastic of the orange kraata also feels noticably softer.
  2. I agree with you, I also doubt I would get my hands plon a prototype this way (not my luck anyway) I am positive it isn't general wear, and I know there are some rough types of kraata, I just don't have another trans orange kraata to compair it to, I wonder if they used a different mold for the trans orange kraata, what I most want to question is the underside of the kraata, on a standard kraata "belly" there are 2 protrusions equadistant from both ends and the entire cavity that makes up the underside is centered, on this trans orange kraata however, the belly has 1 small circular indentation at a bit less then half way from the head of the kraata to the tail and off center of the cavity width, also the cavity is not perfectly centered and favors the right side of the kraata if you stared at the head these are definitively premanufature errors, and some point to a different mold entirly, the "eyes" also do not rise to the same height on the trans orange kraata as they do to a standard one, sorry for the long statement, I will try to get a picture soon.
  3. I will try and take a picture when I have access to a better camera, and I do know about factory flaws, I just find it odd that there are many types of inconsistancies, like the details being less tall or less deep the a standard kraata of that level, the underside of the kraata consists of a cavity on all kraata, however the one I own is slightly asymetrical.
  4. So, I recently won an ebay auction for a bulk lot of bionicle parts (as I lost my collection, and this has proven a cheap solution to fill in the bulk) and I won the auction for $46.00, I ripped open the package the instant it arrived, my floor never knew what hit it. But in the midst of pieces was a transparent orange kraata from the Nike shoes, an expensive part on it's own, so my question is, was there ever a prototype kraata, because this kraata is a bit strange quality wise, the edges in places have small bits of plastic still attached, the details seem slightly rounded out, or smaller/uneven, and molding marks from the underside aren't in there correct locations, so if anyone else has an orange kraata, can you compair it to an official one and let me know, I've compaired it to the green rahkshi's kraata of the same level, and there or some inconsistancies. Fingers crossed, but I'm sure the answer is simple. And good luck to all, (I know of the misprint kraata out there too)
  5. The Matatu is from Nuju, and the Komau is from Onewa, but I see your point, and I agree, the hydruka gave us nothing new at all (except the eye piece maybe), since the rahaga had the heads already, I mean, if the teeth claw things were in relative color, or the armor was a solid color, or swapped between them... something, but no.
  6. Yea, I have no idea why I didn't include the Ruru since, the mahri matoran are kinda the topic we're covering but that's correct, and yes, the flesh color Onewa had was only in 1 mask released, his... I would have loved to have seen a Huna, or Mahiki in that color, I also modified a great Rau to have eye holes, and sanded down the lower cheeks to accomidate the mahri matoran (since they stick out far and hinder movement for them) but I'll have to find pictures of it or something.
  7. Agreed, sadly, though the voyatoran all had unique-ish builds, none had any new parts, and so I think a mix of the masks was the least they should have done for collectability (at least Delu's was lighter blue) plus the only solid dark blue masks we got were Hahli Mahri's (a great mask to me) and Gali Mistika's (which should die in a fire, if only it was symetrical, and didn't have the large connector points at the top) heck even lime green had more, and it was only out in mask form for two years (talking metru masks here, not helmets or '01 masks) also, on an unrelated topic, I have actually created a way to make dekar have a breathing tube insert into one side of his mask (where the breathing aparatus are at) using a peg/stud piece and wedging it into the area before putting the mask on, thus trapping the piece between the mask and the face, the result is flawless and completely invisable (except through the slot in the front, which is okay, in my opinion, now on to defilak...) Actually, I devised a similar way to work with defilak maybe sarda and idris masks next (I own the masks, not the sets) I just tried it, and the same method works for those two as well, it looks a bit more strange on them though since the part used is slightly more visable from the front, but adding a second peg/stud on the opposite side resolves the issue, and actually looks good in the huna... good to know
  8. I get that it was for plot, but I don't see how destroying it would have destroyed him, then again, there are quite a few plot holes, or little tidbits that bug me mostly occuring after 2006, like if kardas was frozen in solidified time... how on Mata-Nui's green (earth) would they have been able to pry the mask of life off him, how did they even know that'd work without them to being frozen from contact with solidified time, or why the mask even flew into the ocean, all ways to make the plot way to easy, or why did Maxilos need a breathing tube if he was just a robot, or how the mask of time turned Dekar into hydraxon, a being the mask of life had never seen before, and if matoro teleported the other mahri away, (assumably the mask of life did this too, or maybe Mata-Nui himself) then why couldn't Mata-Nui just teleport to metru nui when he landed on (or before he reached) Bara Magna [all of these are rhetorical though] I just like pointing them out, I actually only thought of this yesterday.
  9. So, I have a question... if Makuta was sucessful at the end of 2008 in stealing Mata-Nui's body, why would he than lock Mata-Nui's spirit inside the mask of life... I mean, this is one of the strongest masks known to exist, a mask that also created its own body before, meaning it possibly could again, and even then, why didn't he just crush the mask, he's a giant in compairison (and it's not like he could destroy it, hydraxon almost did, Mata-Nui's body could definately destroy it, also, he just threw it into space, but couldn't Mata-Nui just create a body capable of flight, or a machine capable of flying back to his planet... lastly, Makuta came to the new planet only after Mata-Nui had finally obtained a new larger body, Makuta was (at least as I am led to believe) pretty smart, cautious, and manipulative, why would he ever make these several mistakes? I don't buy it, but I guess that's just way to end the story by 2010, buy post your thoughts, or what you would have done if you were in Makuta or Mata-nui's situation?
  10. That is true about the huna, looking as though it also has a breathing aparatus at the mouth (then again the huna, and dekar's mask had similar land mark features, like an entirly open eye hole (which would improve there field of vision) and I even thing the Ruru was a pretty good choice, since the lower sides of the mask seemed like they would house a breathing aparatus, and the area around the mouth is designed promenently) my next choice of masks would be onewa's mask (and similarly to dekar having black arms, said flesh matoran could have black bohrok legs, and the flesh arms from the vahki) plus I believe onewa's metru feet would add more of that color, so it is possible to build a brown mahri matoran with these exceptions, and for that matter, lime, and orange can be created.
  11. I will choose 1 for each element, then my favorite launcher, then just a non specific weapon (based on looks) Fire- Jaller Mahri's power sword Earth- probably Nuparu Mahri's shield, or Onua mistika's gun shield piece, this element is a tough one. Stone- Pohatu Phantoka's helicoper claws because they can be pincers, and drills as well (though I think the prototype blades looked better) Air- Matau's Kaukau staff or Lesovik's shark-like blade Ice- Kopaka's Ice sword, any color, hands down. Water- Kiina's tridents Shooter- thornax probably, then the 6 shooter from the new protectors (the cordak would be, but the open ball joint gets in the way) And a general weapon... probably the electro blades (dekar and defilak's weapon) because it comes in many colors, and it is a good size for staves and things.
  12. Technically, the exo-raptor has a perpendicular connector that goes into the lower section of the toa mata's body, and since pohatu's body is upside down, I don't think it would officially count as being connected to the exo-raptor, but I haven't tried as far as I recall.
  13. Well thank you, and I agree, I believe the alternates could have had some canon role, like the 2006 piraka combiners could easily guard the mask of life, and the "exo-raptor" could have been just a quicker way of transport, or something similar to the boxor (to rebuild after the bohrok)
  14. I love that Kualsi, and even though I was never fond of keetorange replacing brown, Dekar's mask looks perfect for an under water set with those things that look like breathing aparatus, I wish we got the metru eye stalk with the axle whole in the back in more colors, I do like that Idris and Sarna from the other set had variations, and also the metru feet come in every color of mahri matoran so I wish the sets had dark green and keetorange metru feet... but I won't complain.
  15. It would be a while since I don't own the boxor (lost my collection recently) but I would absolutely post pictures, I could probably make one from scratch, but it wouldn't look like the boxor much
  16. I wish they would have released all of the original kanohi woth axles in that slightly smaller (or original) size and color, so that'd be wonderful, and that Hau would be great. And strangly, we didn't get that many black masks in bionicle after 2003, whenua's ruru... and that was it for a while, I mean yoy've got the ultimate dume mask, but I dont count that, and the von nebula's mask aftee bionicle (and glatorian helmets, but not masks) otherwise there was silver or silver blends, and nuparus mask was the rubber pull over type thing
  17. I think the opposite is true, I believe that the old pictures used the hau, what looked like an infected hau, to symbolize the toa (but the hau is a symbol of mata-nui) and when looking back, they did mention that he was asleep below the island, but I think his face being there was more of paying a little bit of homage to 2001.
  18. Well it wasn't really a theory, but that's fine, I plan on getting the boxor set some time and modifying it to fit Turaga, just because I think that'd be cool, even though I know that wouldn't make sense in the story line, I look at the boxor like this, after the bohrok were defeted, there was a little bit of a break before the bohrok kal (or maybe not) and they used that time to rebuild, and the boxor is a good fighting machine, but it'd be pretty good for rebuilding or demolishing as well, just my thoughts.
  19. yea, and technically Dalu's rau, which was a lighter blue, but still you are right, they should have recolored them, infact none of the voya matoran had any new parts come with them, cool builds though.
  20. A black Mahiki and white Komau would be very nice if I do say so myself, of couse I am a sucker for recolored masks.
  21. I have actually seen a white great huna, it was one of those masks that would go on the toa metru shoes (like people shoes ) back in 2004, but it may have been spray painted, Ive also seen a black zatth (aparently a prototype, but probably also painted) either way, some good looking masks, I loved the Zatth because of how much it looked like yhe metru masks, I could see Matau wearing it (except for the holes for the tubes, but they werent to out of place)
  22. I prefer the A model as well, because it is a more complex and ingenious build, and I just look at it like each one has its purpose and advantages, this is mostly a way to think that the Boxor b model, if it was canon, would still be a formidable vehicle for the tohunga. My main focus on this topic was to ask what vehicles of machines did you see with a secondary model that could work well in the storyline (but not many vehicles/machines have b models, exo-toa, boxor, jetrax, thats all I can think of)
  23. I know it was a non canon alternate, I was just stating that both models work with advantages and disadvantages in the story when it comes to things each can do. I loved the Boxor set, because it was a clever build, and a good looking set (though I wish Nuparu had a dark gray mask, since the orange one was released on the master builder set)
  24. I agree, I actually was hoping they would make the Komau in dark red for the Karzahni set instead of the huna, but at least one of the masks was recolored, and the Huna does look good as an underwater mask, so thats a plus, But I agree.
  25. Those are good choices, I would really like to see that Arthron, the Rode isn't my favorite mask, but a black recolor would look very nice, especially on some MOCs, I'd like to see a dark blue one personally.
